Chapter 49: Hey There

Tanjiro's POV

Upon arriving in the Swordsmith Village I was shown around and waited for Mr. Haganezuka on why I broke my sword during the battle against Upper Moon 6. Upon doing so I saw Genya Shinaguzawa, the Love Hashira, Mitsuri Karonji, the Mist Hashira, Muichiro Tokito, and a young swordsmith named Kotetsu. He offered to train me using Yorichi Zeroshiki, and because of this, we ended up discovering a rusted blade inside its body.

To my surprise, Mr. Haganezuka came out of the woods and said that he'd take care of it and repolish the blade. That night, a Uppermoon attacked us. I got separated from Tokito-san. Genya and I were fighting the upper moon before the Love Hashira came.

"Karonji-san!" I screamed as she fainted

Genya, Nezuko, and I tackled Karonji-san down to the ground as the demon was about to attack. The three of us did our best to protect her, but we eventually got cornered. I closed my eyes bracing for impact but it never came. Instead, I smelled a familiar scent and the scent of metal. Opening my eyes I saw a figure standing in front of us, her ax in a blocking position that she once showed me.

"Hope I'm not too late for the  fight"

"Rinni!" Karonji-san yelled out in happiness

"Hey, there! Hope you're not too injured cause I'm gonna need help with this one"

"Right! We'll protect everyone! Leave it to us! We'll do something about this"

Rinni's POV

"Mitsuri you go offensive and I'll handle the defense!"

I blocked another dragon's head from grabbing Mitsuri as she was attacking. With the two of us working together, the fight was going a bit smoother.

"Rinni go assist those boys! Out of all of them, you're the most well-trained!"

"But-"

"I can handle this, now go!"

I nodded and ran off toward Tanjuro and the rest. I saw a headless body make its way to civilians. I turned to Muichiro who was staring at me with a shocked expression, he was the only one who could help now.

"Muichiro get ready to boost me!"

I ran back and ran full speed at Muichiro who had his hands together. I stepped on his hands and he boosted me upwards and towards to the demon. Because of how far I was, I began falling halfway but I saw Tanjiro was in the way of my landing area. I'm sorry buddy but we both know we have to stop this demon. I used Tanjiro's back as a platform and jumped towards the demon, using the second form of metal breathing I cut the body into many pieces, effectively hitting the main body of the demon. Sadly I wasn't able to fix my landing causing me to either break or sprain my ankle. I may have also broken my leg, I'm not sure as I struggled to stand up. A couple of swordsmiths helped me towards my friends.

I smiled at them, and to my surprise, I got a hug from Muichiro, I pat his head as Mitsuri ended up bringing us into a group hug. Pretty soon the Kakushi came and took the injured demon slayers, including me, to the butterfly estate. Within the two days, I was initially confined I officially met Zenitsu and tried to escape to visit a grave.

I managed to do so, now I stood in front of Kyojuro Rengoku's grave. I placed flowers on top of the grave and offered a prayer, silently thanking him for training me. I heard footsteps behind me and saw Tengen Uzui with his wives. I smiled at waved at them.
