Chapter 16: Church

Rinni's POV

I slowly opened my eyes only to find myself in a dark corridor, leaning against a metal frame of some steps, and a wall behind me. I look around to see both Zack and Ray asleep. Ray had used my lap as a pillow and Zack had used his scythe to keep himself upright as he slept. Don't get me wrong, my head still hurts but at least I feel a lot better for now. I felt the weight on my lap being lifted and I saw Rachel sitting up. She rubbed her eyes before looking at me. I gave her a slight smile and a wave.

"Hey Ray, how are you?" I asked

"Shouldn't I be asking you that?" she questioned

Before I could reply, I heard Zack curse under his breath. I look at him and I see that he's pissed. He dreamt of the time he was at that hellhole of an orphanage, that's what's got his mood sour. He got up telling us to get up if we were all good. I helped Rachel up once I was up. Rachel was about to talk but I stopped her and shook my head. We soon entered the doll house. Cathy explained that we need to solve the puzzle. To save Zack from the pain I volunteered to be the worker, but I was stopped by Cathy once again.

She pointed a gun at me while Rachel and Zack did the puzzle. I can see that Zack was getting more pissed off as the puzzle goes on. Once it was solved you can see how pissed he was and Cathy had to rub more salt into the wound. We moved on to the injection area and it still went as cannon. Zack injected himself with the two syringes. I grabbed Rachel's hand and we ran to meet up with Zack. I made sure Rachel was behind me, so when Zack told us to run I grabbed Rachel and carried her as I ran. We both heard the manic laughter of Zack as we ran. I soon reached the last area and I placed Rachel down, putting her behind me.

"Ray, stay behind me." I told her.

Zack soon enough came laughing, I got ready for when he was gonna attack. My knuckles were turning while I gripped the ax handle. He slowly came close to us slowly raising the scythe. I won't lie, I am afraid. I'm scared even though I know what will happen next. He pointed the scythe at me and laughed loudly. He raised it high and I got ready to block it when suddenly a bullet hit his arm, stopping him. He dropped his scythe and fell to his knees. I looked behind me and glared at the woman behind the glass wall as she began to laugh.

"Hi! I can't believe you three made it this far. Sorry to interrupt just when things were getting good. You've entered my gun firing squad room, hence the bullet in your arm. Take a look! See all the guns around you? And the best part is I'm able to control every one of them with a push of a button. Isn't that lovely? Anyway it sounds like you had a spat-" Cathy was cut off

"Shut the fuck up! I'm getting annoyed with your sadistic bitch ass"

Three bullet shots accurately at the same place as where I was hit before. It hurts a lot more now and it's starting to bleed again. Damn it. I dropped the ax, holding my shoulder in pain. Ray was able to help me keep my balance for a bit before I eventually fell to my knees, glaring at Cathy. 

"Don't interrupt me. As I was saying, Zack, you truly are exceeding my expectations as a criminal. The way you surrendered to your evil impulses despite your every effort to resist them. It takes my breath away."

I stood up with Ray handing me the handle of the ax. Zack also stood up, making sure he held his scythe. He muttered something that I couldn't understand clearly and he walked and then ran to the glass wall. I made sure Rachel stood behind me as Zack passed us. I decided to ignore the bitch and focus on Zack's movements in order to be ready for when he attacks. But soon enough, Cathy threw a gun at Rachel and told her to pick it up. I tried to grab it but Cathy just shot my arm.
