Narrator's POV
A 23-year-old Filipina walked out of the gates of a university. She was wearing somewhat civilian attire, the only difference was her top, which was a white polo shirt that was required by her university as a possible uniform. Her black and gray backpack is on her back and another bag on her left hand. The contents of the other bag were formal clothing. She was on her way home from passing her defense, reading the messages her friends left her after telling them that she passed. She could only smile as she read the sweet messages that her friends left for her. It had been a little over a year since the incident.
She spent her time during the academic break rebuilding her previous machine safely, as well as studying. By the time she went back to school, she had to readjust herself to the schedule once more but it was easy for her. The young woman also began wearing wrist support on her right wrist, the one that also covers her palms. Why may you ask? Well, there were black crack-like markings on her wrist and seeping into her forearms in both arms and the back of her hands and palms. Doctors chalked up the markings as tattoos that the kidnappers put on her, they offered to test for HIV or AIDS from the tattoos but she declined, knowing what the true cause of those black markings was.
"Ate Rinni!"
Rinni turned around to find one of her classmates, waving at her. She stopped walking and watched as her classmate went to her.
"Ate congratulations po!"
"Thank you Liza. Oh, I just remembered, defense mo bukas no?"
"Yes po Ate"
"Good luck, I know you'll do great."
"Ate, I'll see you at the review center, di ba?"
"Yeah, see you there"
After giving a pat on the back to her classmate, Liza, Rinni left to go to her car. It was the same car that her family crashed in. Her uncle managed to have it restored. Some would say he was rather inconsiderate, but Rinni was thankful. She only used the car when she knew that she would be coming home late, otherwise, she would rather commute to school. It was cheaper for her to commute anyway.
The bus fare was only 40 Philippine Pesos, while gas, at minimum, was 300 pesos. So logically it would be better for her to commute anyway. Back to the story at hand, Rinni unlocked the car and began putting her things inside it. She opened up the trunk of her car to get a pair of extra shoes she had forgotten to take out before. Rinni had planned to move it to the back seat where most of her things were so she wouldn't forget it again.
Just as she was about to close the trunk, she heard something. She heard a familiar voice calling her, so she turned around to see who it was. Her eyes widened in shock as she faced the ones who called her. There stood a group of familiar faces.
"Hey there Rinni!" said one of them
Rinni just stared at them, eyes wide with shock, while the group laughed at her reaction. She just shook her head before walking to the group of people, and with a smile on her face, she hugged one of them. She was happy to see them again. In response, the rest of the group hugged her, happy to see her. Rinni was the first to break free from the hug, looking at the said group of people.
"How the fuck are you here?!" she asked in disbelief
Another set of adventures awaits. How will it go? How will the story truly end? All we can tell is that the adventures aren't ending, for now, that is.
