Rinni's POV

The next day I woke up with Maki and Sister Iris telling me we had to celebrate the success of the Joint Training we did. No doubt it's a cover-up, I mean its fucking obvious. I told them I'll join them in a minute or two, so they left the room. Now, what happens after this? Hm... I think it involves another company? Fuck, I wished I at least read the manga to know what happens. We're getting in trouble left and right. But then again, it's expected when you're investigating other companies. I left the room and went to the venue. I could only watch as everyone was setting up for the celebration.

Plus, I could smell the scent of barbeque. I saw Lieutenant Hinawa furiously grilling and, to be honest, my mouth almost watered at the sight of it. Hey, you can't blame me. I am still rather exhausted and I'm hungry.

I grabbed a plate and got some food. I saw Shinra standing near Captain Hibana, it seems like they were talking. I just shrugged, before walking over to them after he signaled to me. I held my hand up for Shinra to fist-bump with me, which he did. I placed my free hand on the hoodie pockets while I held a plate of food in the other. Oh right, I forgot to mention, I wear a nonflammable sleeveless hoodie underneath my uniform.

"Got any extra chairs?" I asked

"You can sit right next to me Rinni. You move to a better place where Rinni will also be in the shade" she continued and I just sweatdropped

"Self-satisfying punk" mumbles the Fifth's Rookie and that merits a kick from Captain Hibana

"Gravel does not speak, it does not breathe without my permission." Captain Hibana turns to me before continuing "Right Rinni?"

I only sweat dropped, as the rookie said owie. I mean don't get me wrong, I still have a bone to pick with the guy because of what he said but I think he suffered enough, well at least for now. Princess Hibana continued to talk to Shinra and sometimes would offer to feed me to which I would decline since I had my own plate.

Wait... VA and Kitten told me that Hibana was a genius, or at least really great with Chemistry and stuff. If Princess Hibana had the means and knowledge... Then that means... Can she? I mean I don't know since I never watched or read Fire Force. I don't know the scope of things if I have to be honest.

"Hey, Rinni, you okay?" Shinra asked snapping me out of my thoughts

"Oh, uh, yeah. I was just thinking about something"

"Wanna talk about it? He asked

"Yes, maybe I can help." Captain Hibana said

"Maybe... I'll talk about it later, I still need to think about it more to get a complete grasp of what it is. I don't want to think of something so random with a lot of things getting in the way."

With that, they dropped the topic and we continued to celebrate. The celebration lasted a whole day, and I spent it with different people from Company 5 and the familiar faces of the Eighth. As the sun set the two captains talked from a distance as everyone was talking. Where was I? I was on the roof of one of the warehouses, watching it. Damn... I forgot how much I wanted to watch the sunset. I soon heard someone calling me, I looked down to find Shinra, so I signaled for him to go up. Shinra quickly used his ability and got up on the roof of the warehouse.

"What are you doing here all alone? Are you still thinking about the things you said earlier?"

"Sort of. I mean I'm kinda enjoying the sunset. I never really got to watch it due to all the things I've been through in all the different worlds I've been in."
