'Halt!!'

The long parade of the future third princess of Da Dong came to a stop.

It was midnight and the road they are currently traveling on is starting to blow heavy and cold wind. It is suitable for them to find a place to rest for the night.

Surprisingly enough, he stumbled upon a beautiful inn in the middle of nowhere, such luck!

General Zhao who was sent by the emperor to escort the princess hopped off his horse. He walked towards the luxurious-looking inn.

The inn-keepers, who appeared to be an old couple welcomed them with great respect and humbleness.

'Your highness, I don't think we should stay here. Something about this doesn't seem right.' Whispered Yu Lin, the maid servant of princess Ruo An.

Ruo An sighed and shook her head.

'You're thinking too much.' She said before getting off her carriage.

He Chang urged his horse forward and immediately leapt off his horse to help Ruo An.

'A'Chang? Why are you here? Didn't I tell you to look after my brother?' Asked Ruo An with her eyebrows furrowed.

He Chang clenched his fists.

'This one is just worried about her highness.'

Ruo An smiled and patted the man's arms.

'From now on, I want you to take great cares of Xiang Ning the way you took great care of me. You're no longer my bodyguard but his.'

Saying so, she walked inside the inn, once again leaving the bodyguard to stand by himself outside.

He Chang slowly shut his eyes in anger.

He hates that prince and he does not want to get involved with him. But unexpectedly, his master shoved him away towards that vixen.

He turned to look at the smallest carriage at the farthest back of the parade.

Not one minister nor guards were guarding that carriage. However, it is obvious that the prince is still inside. Even the coachman had gone away, not even caring about the royal.

He Chang is sure he had heard that same coachman complain about driving the carriage of an unfavored prince.

He clicked his tongue, of course, such a useless person shouldn't be regarded highly by anyone.

He walked towards the carriage and saw Lan standing outside, her face filled with worry.

'He Chang! It's great that you are here! His highness is unconscious and no matter how much I tried to wake him, he will not wake up! What do we do!' Asked Lan in panic.

She felt great distress and pity towards her little prince. She had asked so many people including the guards and the coachman for help but none of them even cared to look at the prince inside.

Nobody deemed her prince worthy of attention nor a single shred of care. In this big world, his highness has always been alone.

Once he heard the news, He Chang did not even feel a bit of care or worry.

Nevertheless, as the bodyguard of the prince, he asked a few questions in an unbothered way.

'Since when was he burning up?'

'I don't know! I got into the carriage and saw him sleeping, I tried to wake up but he j-just won't wake up and his head is b-burning.' Stammered Lan.

He Chang drew the curtain and walked inside.

'YOU!'

Lan was about to pull He Chang back when the curtain was shut in her face.

Normally, only the personal maid could go inside the marriage of the royal family members. Bodyguards are even more forbid from going inside. Although her prince is a male, anyone knows that he is actually an intersex so being in too much contact with both males and females can be improper for his highness.

Inside the carriage, He Chang stared at the sleeping prince. His eyes darted towards the curtain at the side of carriage, surely, the curtain was not properly shut, meaning that someone had opened it.

This curtain at the side can only be opened from the inside. This prince must have opened the curtain and the cold wind obviously made him sick.

What a frail and sickly prince.

He Chang redid the curtains and properly tuck them back.

He then lifted the prince's body up in a bridal style, his face glooming as the second passes.

The small prince seems to have felt the movement and shifted uncomfortably before snuggling into He Chang's chest.

A whiff of gentle cherry blossoms scent found its way into He Chang's nostrils. The smell was unique and different from any perfume pouches on any females he had encountered.

Even his crush, princess Ruo An had never smelled this beautiful before.

He lowered his head to look at the dainty face.

He narrowed his eyes dangerously before hopping off the carriage.

'Your highness!!' Shouted Lan.

Her eyes grew even more worried once she saw her prince being held in the arms of He Chang.

'HE CHANG!!! Drop the prince this instance! How dare you touch his highness when you're just a servant?? And a male servant at that!' Reprimanded Lan.

He Chang's face turned dark

'Is this prince not like a servant himself?' He whispered before walking with big strides towards the inn, not letting go of the little prince.

Lan's face twisted

How dare that d*ckhead call his highness a servant?

She quickly followed the two into the inn angrily.

He Chang walked into a warm bedroom and put the soft body onto the bed.

As he retreated his steps, the soft sensation of the prince's skin still lingers on his arms. He felt a little reluctant to let go of the prince's body even if he didn't notice it himself.

Lan walked on and put a bowl of water with a soft white cloth down gently, trying her best not to make too much sounds.

'You can go out now.' Said Lan.

He Chang didn't say anything and readily leave the bedroom.

Lan soaked the cloth in the warm water and rinsed the water out before kneeling beside the prince. She lifted the cloth and put it gently on the prince's forehead, tears threatening to fall in pity towards her master.

When will her prince get to live a happy and blissful life like others?
