The news about how the crown prince of Da Dong killed a minister so ruthlessly in the main court in front of the emperor's face just for a useless prince of a small kingdom caused controversy all throughout the nation.

The doors of the pavilion creaked open as Xiang Ning walked out. In both of his hands, there is a big plate of beautiful pastries emitting an aromatic scent. He smiled brightly as he shut the doors of his pavilion using his back.

'Where are you going?'

Turning to the side, Jin Shan walked forward. His face is solemn and his temperament indifferent as usual.

Xiang Ning smiled even brighter once he saw the man.

'I made these pastries by hand myself! I'm going to deliver it to the crown prince as a thanking gift for standing up for me in court yesterday. Chang'ge, don't you think the pastries designs are cute?'

As he showed the pastries on the plate, his eyes shone brighter than the morning stars. This indicates that he is actually very excited about this and extremely grateful towards his benefactor.

Jin Shan glanced down at the pastries on the plate, they are indeed cute. One could know that the maker of these little things put in so much work and commitment to make them turn out so beautiful.

The end of Jin Shan's lips twitched a little. He felt incredibly irritated, although he can't pin point why exactly that he is so irritated.

He then caught sight of the bandages on the little prince's hand. He even injured himself multiple times while making these things, still, he is so happy about it. Jin Shan remembers the time back in Chang'An when the little guy used to do the exact same thing for him. Back then, he had ignored the younger and had thrown out the pastries himself. Now, the young man who claimed that he is in love with him just a short few days ago is standing here with a platter of pastries that he is about to give to another man.

The annoyance inside the Jin clan's heir grew.

He grabbed the plate from the younger man roughly, he then picked a few of the pastries and stuffed it in his mouth as he began to chew quickly, grinding his teeth as hard as he can.

'You're welcome.' He replied curtly.

Xiang Ning watched in confusion and horror. Those are the pastries that he made himself for the person who defended him in court! Although the murder was really scary for him, it still means that the other cared. Now, this man is eating the pastries he diligently made so ignorantly and even dared to say 'you're welcome' as if he's the one who helped him? How outrageous!

Xiang Ning pulled the plate out of the older man's arm with a frown. There are still half of the pastries left on the platter, fortunately.

'Chang'ge! You can't eat these, they're for the crown prince!'

Although the frown on the beautiful face of the juvenile is really funnily cute, Jin Shan could not help but get even more pissed after hearing what the young man said.

'Give it back.'

Jin Shan ordered, his face growing scarier the more time passes.

Xiang Ning sighed, this crush of his is really becoming more and more like a child everyday and he can't even understand why. Anyway, he has to bring this plate to the crown prince.

He ignored the comment that Jin Shan made and turned his heels to head towards the crown prince's pavilion.

Jin Shan bit his lips as he followed the little prince with clenched fists. He can't really make a commotion right now, guess he'll just have to bite down the irritation in his heart.

An old eunuch walked into the quarters belonging to the crown prince, his stature respectful and quiet.

'Your highness, prince Xiang Ning requested an audience.'

Li Jun paused his actions. He put the quill in his hand down and ordered for the guards to let the young prince in.

Xiang Ning walked in, his face showing a genuine beautiful smile as he put the plate of pastries on the table.

'Greetings to your highness! This one made these pastries myself for you as a thanking gift for standing up for me back then in court.'

Li Jun turned towards Jin Shan who is standing behind Xiang Ning. He is currently wearing a black face, his mood is obviously not good.

Smirking, Li Jun grabbed one of the pastries and began to bite on it.

'This is really delicious, I must compliment your highness for your skills.' Said Li Jun, smiling widely.

Xiang Ning could not help but blush. The lively red showed itself on the white cheeks of the boy which made him look ten times more beautiful.

Jin Shan shut his eyes in anger before opening them again, storm brewing in those pupils of his.

Li Jun reached out his hand as he brushed flour off Xiang Ning's hair.

'There is a little flour on your hair.' Chuckled Li Jun.

Xiang Ning's face grew redder in an instance.

'Thank you your highness.' He muttered shyly.

A rough callused hand grabbed onto the small ones belonging to Xiang Ning abruptly.

'Your highness, her highness princess Ruo An is looking for you in your pavilion.' Said Jin Shan.

Xiang Ning snapped out of his stupor. His sister?

'Please pardon my rudeness your highness but I must excuse myself for now.' Said Xiang Ning.

Li Jun smiled

'No worries, I look forward to eating these pastries again one day?'

'Of course!' Agreed Xiang Ning before walking outside.

Jin Shan turned around and 'accidentally' bump into the table causing the plate of pastries to fall to the ground.

The beautifully made pastries all fell and broke into pieces.

'I'm really sorry, your highness.' Said Jin Shan in a mocking tone before walking out as well, this time, his black face is replaced with a leisure smile.

Li Jun looked at the shut doors with mirth. He bit down on his jaws harshly that it might crack any moment. Anger clearly visible.
