Jin Shan lowered his extended hand, his jaws were clenched so hard it could break at any moment. He shut his eyes and breathed one sigh.

Xiang Ning felt uneasy, he knows that when Jin Shan does this, it is never a good sign. Surely, Ping Shi is not a match for Jin Shan, no matter how good he is. The little prince did not want to bother his benefactor anymore. He lowered his eyes and slowly walked towards Jin Shan.

Ping Shi frowned

'Little prince?' He whispered

Xiang Ning smiled at Ping Shi bitterly.

'A'Shi, I want to thank you for all the things you've done for me but I really do still want to go with ge.'

Ping Shi blinked with a frown.

Jin Shan unfurled his hands and grabbed Xiang Ning's waist with an evil smirk directed at Ping Shi.

'You know what that means? That means you should stay away.'

After that, Jin Shan pulled Xiang Ning away and they both disappeared. Ping Shi punched a tree trunk nearby, seething with anger.

As soon as he landed, Jin Shan brought the prince back into his bed chambers in the Jin residence. Xiang Ning couldn't help but follow as he could not resist the strength of the other.

'What is the status between you and that bastard?' Asked Jin Shan, his grip on the frail wrist got tighter and tighter.

The little prince pursed his lips, he didn't answer nor did he want to.

Jin Shan gripped the younger's waist and pulled him onto his lap as he sat on the bed. The action caused Xiang Ning to blush a shade of red on his white cheeks, he felt embarrassed from the posture of the two of them.

'What? Why are you quiet all of a sudden? Or do you need me to teach you how to open your mouth again?' Provoked Jin Shan while moving his lips closer to Xiang Ning's as an indication of what he wants to do.

Xiang Ning struggled desperately but was to no avail.

'You- How could you do this when you're already engaged?' Cried Xiang Ning, his heart was distressed at Jin Shan's behavior.

'I've already told you, I have nothing to do with her. The engagement is just a momentary thing.' Explained Jin Shan with a sigh.

'Either way, an engagement is an engagement.' Said Xiang Ning.

Jin Shan smirked and pressed his lips on the softer ones in front of him. He forcibly plundered the small and warm cavern of the youth's mouth. Only until the prince was unable to breathe did he let go.

'I'm engaged to her but I'm going to marry you.' Whispered Jin Shan in Xiang Ning's ears.

Xiang Ning widened his eyes in shock, his face becoming even redder like a tomato.

Jin Shan placed his head on the prince's chest. He stayed like this for a few second, like a little abandoned puppy seeking comfort.

'Ning, I really truly love you. Please bear with me, I'll make you my wife one day.'

'What are you saying!' Snapped Xiang Ning. The blush on his face began to spread to his neck.

Seeing the view, the Jin Lord chuckled and pecked a kiss on his loved one's cheeks.

'You're cute when you're shy.' Complimented Jin Shan.

The day was long and the sun was shining brightly as if to celebrate the two lovers' reunion. However, one person's happiness is another person's sorrow.

'You know exactly what to do right?' Asked the Puxiang Xie clan head.

Ting Ting looked at her father with a mysterious glint in her eyes. She smiled and picked up one moon cake to take a bite from. The white powder on the cake splattered over her rouge-covered lips, causing those petals to look incredibly sweet.

'Of course, father can count on me.' Said Xie Ting Ting, her red lips pursing a little.

The elder man nodded and stood up using his dragon-carved walking stick to help him. He slowly walked out of the room.

Ting Ting glared at the closed doors and stood up quickly.

'Old hag, always doubting others' capabilities.' The nasty words spat out of her mouth does not match those that should be said about one's parents at all.

She grabbed a rouge bottle from the wooden cabinet and began applying some of it on her already red lips, the anger in her eyes burning.

She put down the bottle a few second later, her gaze fiery.

'Just watch, I'll crush both the Jin and this rotten Puxiang clan all in one go.'

Li Jun felt nothing but pain at this moment, he limped towards his tent quietly in the middle of the night. After the ongoing battles non stop for days, all the soldiers including himself are very tired. At this moment, their camp is filled with nothing but silence and distant snores from the tired soldiers.

After extracting informations and evacuating the people from the area, Li Jun led his men into the capital and fought head ons with the emperor's army. It had been tough but victory is leaning towards them.

Tomorrow will be the last battle, if they are successful, they can absolutely seize back the throne and throw the rebels into the dungeons.

Li Jun sat down on his bed, his breathings a little ragged. He looked at the arrow piercing into the right side of his chest, blood oozing incessantly. Luckily, the arrow does not have any complicated shapes, it is one straight sharp line so Li Jun could pull it out without an aid from the medics.

He grabbed the hilt of the arrow and bit his pale lips before pulling it out in one go. Blood spat out fiercer than before, he tremblingly reached for a white clean cloth at the corner and used to cover the wound, hoping to stop the bleeding for a while.

He staggered towards a cabinet and pulled out a small jade bottle. He bit the lid and pulled it off using the strength of his teeth before carelessly pouring the liquid on his open wound. The sting caused him to grunt out in pain.

After his wound is properly dressed, he sighed and leant back against the bedrest. His eyes staring off to the top of the tent, oh how tables have turned.

How could everything come to this over the course of one night without his presence in the capital?

And how is that little guy? One part of him says he must go to save the other, another part is telling him to protect his people.
