Chapter 17 My Nocturnal Mate

*I opened my eyes and I knew it was night by the way the atmosphere felt. My world was still dark always,but I got up carefully as to not wake the Alpha,or Alaxander,or would I call him my mate? All of this is confusing! I need some time to process this. I went to the front entry way and I felt another protruding object. I first tried pulling,it didn't work then my hand slipped and the protruding object went down and I went out of the entry way and into the cool night air. I felt snow under my feet through the gauze and I stepped onto it. My feet never left any prints or made a noise even when touching crunchy snow they never made a noise. I ran over into the wooded area my natural environment and went a ways in then laid down and dug a hole and laid in it. I listened for fresh prey I could sink my teeth into. I heard a rabbit coming and I crouched down low in waiting. It ran right out in front of my hole and I leaped out snatching it in my jaws clamping down on its neck breaking it instantly. I ripped into the warm flesh with ease and blood painted my face once again. Blood covered my nose preventing me from smelling anything for that moment. I laid back down after I consumed everything from my meal and fell asleep to the sound of mice moving in the snow and owls above laying in wait of prey.*

*I suddenly awoke with a feeling of dread in the pit of my stomach,I felt for my mate,but she wasn't there. Her scent was dull also like she hadn't been in here for awhile. I felt a small breeze blow from the front door and I instantly knew she had gone out of the house. I went outside in hopes of seeing her tracks,but there weren't any. There wasn't even a scent I could only smell snow and melting water which was my mates scent and that wouldn't help me any. I shifted into my dark Black wolf which contrasted with the snow and went out blindly looking for my mate. I mind linked my Betta Jacob,Delilah,and James to help me look for my mate.*

'Jacob,Delilah,James,my mate is missing I am out looking for her can you help me look?!'

'Yeah,sure we will be out there right now!'

*I ran through the snow making deep prints and went around. I smelled some blood splattered on the ground and ran to the smell. I just hope it isn't my mates. When i came to where the blood was I saw a indent in the snow almost none visible and I dug into the snow and uncovered my mate. She was laying htere curled up in a ball with blood painting her face.I nudged her with my nose and she instantly jumped up and started to growl at me. Her growling at me sent a pang of sadness over me. She stopped growling then started to speak.*

"What do you want you are trespassing on this packs territory!"

*She must not be able to smell my scent with the blood covering her face.*

"I am not trespassing on my own territory little mate."

"Oh its just you,I thought you were a rough. You should be careful when waking me up in my natural surroundings I could have killed you!"

*My little mate saying this amused me. I shifted back into my human form,but then realized I didn't have any cloths on so the air was chilly around me*

"Here let me whip my face real quiq so I can smell again."

*My little mate stuffed her face in the powdery snow and cover her nose which made her look like she had a beard. The snow wasn't melting off of her face even with her body heat,which was odd.*

*I scanned my surroundings trying to figure out where we were at in my territory,and I soon found out we were just at the boundary line.*

"There I can smell clearly now. *snif* You smell like your cold...hmm Alaxander."

*It was awkward for me to call an Alpha by his name and it didn't feel natural for me. I sniffed and figured out my mate was cold,I can imagine he was,unlike me he wasn't use to constant cold. I had grown up with it so my hair and developed and become matty and thick to trap heat,without my mates tho it trapped less heat but spread around my body more. The Alpha went quiet for a minute then finally spoke.*

"I just spoke to my mini search party letting them know I found you. Come on lets go."

"Hold up for a minute before we go let me grab something."

*I went back down into the mini hole I had dug and grabbed the rabbit skin I had peeled off of the rabbit.*

"Here it might not be much,but you smell kinda cold so I have some rabbit skin you can cover,something with at least."

"Ummm thanks?"

"I can catch another if its not enough or perhaps a deer,I smell one nearby."

"No its fine really..."

*What am I sopost to do with the rabbit skin? I don't ant to hurt her feeling by saying I cant wear it,I also don't want her to have to hunt either. I guess I could use it like a loin cloth....No still wont work. Guess ill just hold onto it. I lead my little mate back to a area where I kept some shorts and threw them on then lead her back to the pack house,I guess she really doesn't care about seeing anything she doesn't really react to stuff like most girls would,then again she isn't most girls.*
