Chapter 43 Two Worlds Yet None

*I woke to Alaxander sleeping next to me,he was cuddling me and since I was under the bed it almost felt like I was in a cave. Alaxander's scent and my scent were mingling under the bed. I felt him shift a bit and yawn.*

"Morning Ivy."

"Morning Alaxander,hopefully you aren't sore."

"Nop."

*I heard some knocking come from the door and somebody I hadn't seen before entered.*

"Alpha,we.....is he not here?"

"I am under the bed."

"Why are you....hello Luna,well that answers my question."

*Alaxander started to crawl out from under the bed while I went out underneath the frame of the bed quicker.*

"Sorry to disturb you and the Luna,but we found some wolves on pack grounds."

"Rough?"

"No,they are a pack,but they aren't shifting."

*This peaked my interest.*

"Is one of the wolves by any chance black with white circles around his eyes?"

"Yes,do you know them Luna?"

*My lips curled into a smile.*

"You haven't hurt them have you?"

"No,why should we?"

"No,I will be there in a minute."

"Ivy,what's going on?"

"You will see."

*I shifted into Snow and Ashe's form and started to run to our boarder. Alaxander kept close in his huge black wolf form. When I came to the boarder I was met with a familiar sight. I shifted back into my human form and I had a shirt that went down to my knees that I put on for Alaxanders comfort. I stepped forward and knelt down in front of Beta. He stepped forward and touched his nose with mine.*

'Alpha,we though you were dead.'

'No it takes more than that to kill me.'

'Always does.'

"Ivy,can you explain what is going on?"

*Beta's ears pinned back as he held a snarl at Alaxander.*

'Beta,he doesn't mean any harm.'

*Alaxander snarled back at Beta when he snarled at him.*

'Isn't he the reason you were gone for so long?!'

'No he wasn't.'

'What was?'

'I had suffered some trama and I fell asleep for awhile.'

'Then if you are fine come back and lead the pack.'

'I can't'

'It's because of him isn't it?!'

'He is my mate.'

'So you are going to bring him back as Alpha male? If so the you know the tradition for the pack to accept him.'

'Its complicated.'

'Then you are going to join his pack?'

'Beta,I am torn between two worlds,neither one I belong in and yet I belong in one. I have a foot and paw in each world trying to keep peace between myself,but I still don't belonging in either.'

'I know none of use can understand what you are feeling nobody can,but we do wish for you to remain in this pack.It isn't the same without you,but we want what makes you happy all the same. We will let you decide. We will pass back here for the spring run tell us your answer then.'

'I will.'

*Beta and I touched noses again and he lead the pack away just as quickly as they came they left.*

"Ivy,what did they want?"

"They wanted to know what I chose,here or with them.The problem is, I don't belong in either world. I am a fox shifter with two foxes, I grew up in the wild,but was born and lived the first two years of my life tame. I don't belong anywhere,but I belong somewhere."

*Pain showed in Alaxander's eyes as he was about to speak.*

"So who did you choose?"

"I haven't yet,in six months time they will come back here and I will give them my answer."

*All Alaxander could do was nod.*

"We can go back now,they won't come back,if they do they won't cross boundaries,they have plenty of respect for territory."

*Alaxander and I ran back,we shifted as we ran it felt good to feel snow under my paws and the cold winter air.*

'Ivy,Ash and I have been thinking,but what if you could live in both worlds?'

'What do you mean? How can I belong to both worlds when I don't even belong in one?'

'It was just an unfinished thought.'

*We drew up close to the pack house so we shifted back. My neck was starting to burn and it took me a bit to figure out why I looked in a mirror when I went into the house and saw the mark Alaxander had given me. It was like two small flames from where he had claimed me. That reminded me I still need to claim him. I looked for Alaxander and found him doing some paperwork. I sneaked in without him noticing me and went up behind him. My ninja skills have seceded to amaze me. I went up behind him and wrapped my arms loosely around his neck. I startled him at first,but he quickly realized it was me.*

"How did you get in here so sneakily little mate?"

*I rested my head on his shoulder and answered him.*

"Same way you came in."

*He grabbed my hand and pulled me down a bit then turned and kissed me on the lips. It was short and sweet.*

"You know we still have some unfinished business."

"Oh really like what?"

"Making sure everybody knows you belong to me,and only me."
