Gravity's fallen

chapter 22 - lost

March 25th. 3 days until weirdmaggedon. 

Pacifica, Ford and Gideon stood Infront of the remains of the once northwest manor owned by Pacifica's family. A single knock on the door would echo through the town followed by tiny footsteps as if a colony of spiders were crawling towards the entrance, the footsteps reached the doors and through the cracks a familiar old face could be seen. The doors flung open and old man McGuckett leapt at Ford excited to be reunited with his old science partner. "It's good to see you fiddleford," Ford said, pushing the old man off him and barging into the remains of the manor. "You really let this place fall apart, didn't you?" Pacifica said, spinning in circles looking around. "McGucket we need your help, Bill is back and he's going to destroy the universe!!!!... Again" Ford screeched running back and forth through the hallways. "Well, I sure would like to help y'all, but I can't, after I got my memory back, I lost the mind eraser and the capsule containing my memory so I can basically only remember people and what happened before that" McGuckett said sadly as the same capsule he just mentioned fell out of his long beard. Ford noticed but avoided it knowing McGucket wouldn't be helpful anyway "never mind then, thank you Fiddleford '' Ford said, pulling Gideon and Pacifica out of the house as McGucket scuttled away.

Ford and the kids arrived back to the mystery shack noticing the blood red clouds were inching closer and closer. It was around 9pm, the days seemed to pass by quicker in the surrounding areas, as they all entered the mystery shack Ford sent the kids to sleep in the attic, noticing everyone else except Stan was asleep but decided not to disturb him. Down in the basement, Ford had been reprogramming his interdimensional portal into a tracking device, unknown to anyone, Ford had made a compact satellite above gravity falls when he first moved there to catalogue every single mystery, but he was now using it to track decipher. After excruciating hours of searching Ford finally found decipher's location, currently located in the mountains east of the mystery shack and based on photos the device picked up he appeared to be meditating with candles lit in blue flames surrounding him and a purple aura outlining his body.

3AM. Pacifica awoke from a nightmare and remained unable to sleep for a long time, as time went on all she had for company were her own thoughts and the dark, empty room she laid in. At one-point things got so bad that she started seeing things around the room, eyes being in the window, figures in the closet, etc. Although, after some time she finally managed to sleep again. Morning arrived and Pacifica awoke feeling completely refreshed, but that feeling soon found itself swiftly replaced, when the girl looked to her left to the supposedly empty bed next to her, she turned pale as a ghost, Dipper was laying right there, and the rest of the world looked like normal again. Pacifica sat up in her bed keeping her gaze on dipper making sure it wasn't fake, after many blinks it was confirmed, it was definitely dipper. Pacifica soon noticed Dipper get up from his bed and walk over to her, embracing her into a hug and looked into her eyes whispering, "I'm ok". Pacifica was so happy she could almost cry and looked back at Dipper brushing away the hair on his forehead revealing that the birthmark on his head of the big dipper constellation was missing... There was no time to react and within seconds the thing claiming to be Dipper's eyes turned to the same yellow that Bill Ciphers did, and the sky returned to its blood red colour, the fake body of Dipper proceeded to melt in Pacifica's arms but not before it could mutter the words "but Dipper Pines isn't" followed by the dream demons sinister laugh and then nothing once again. At that moment Pacifica sprung awake again, seeing that the time displayed 3AM and all that had occurred was fiction, but something about it felt real, like Dipper's soul was trying to make a connection while Cipher is in control. Pacifica decided it would be best to go back to sleep after making sure everything was how it was when she originally fell asleep.
