*Sebastian*
„Seb I know you said you didn't want to be disturbed...", Kira knocking on my office door made me cringe.
Why was she knocking if she knew I didn't want to be disturbed?
"But Charles is on the phone...", her voice almost rolled over.
Charles would have to wait.
"He says Luisa is in the garage bleeding badly and she's not answering the phone," I jumped to my feet so hard I almost threw Katharina off my desk.
"Call an ambulance!", I gasped and tried to run for the door, but a warm hand held me.
"Do you really want to go now?" purred Katharina, looking at me piercingly with her blue eyes.
Until 10 seconds ago, I wouldn't have gone anywhere. Not with this insane woman sitting half-naked on my desk. But for Luisa, I would drop everything. Always. And after what Charles must have said to Kira, even more so.
I tore myself away from her without a word pop and started to run. Blood pulsated in my ears.
I was flooded with fear like I had never felt before.
I ran like a madman out of the office container and then through the paddock. It wasn't a long way to our stall, but it seemed endless.
I didn't know what to do. The ambulance would be here soon, but I would be the first one with her. What if I was already too late? What if she was already...
I didn't want to think about it.
I didn't want to think about the fact that I might never see her happy again. I might never hear her laugh again. That she might never say my name again.
I felt almost unbearably sick when I could see our garage. It was locked from the outside when I reached it. It was almost beside the point at that moment, but it struck me. She couldn't have locked it, but then who could?
But I didn't dwell on the thought for long and opened. My blood froze in my veins as I slowed my steps.
I was afraid.
I didn't want to see what was waiting for me.
"Carlos?", I heard her voice.
Much thinner than usual. Trembling. Anxious.
"No, it's me Darling.", my voice was shaking at least as much as hers, but I rounded the corner a little faster now and found her on the ground.
A puddle of blood had formed around her. There were wrenches stuck in her.
She barely managed to turn her head. Tears were streaming down her face.
"Seb.", she reached out for me.
I squatted down beside her, trembling. Next to me, her cell phone vibrated. It was completely covered in blood. Everything was covered in blood.
"I called you." she sobbed "You weren't there." her hand shook as I clasped it.
"I'm sorry, darling. I..."
"Now you're here.", she closed her eyes "I'm so damn cold. And I'm tired.", she whispered and pulled my hand to her face.
"Promise me you'll tell Mick and Gina and Mom and Dad that I love them."
"You can tell them yourself," I sobbed, stroking her hair with my free hand.
"I don't know if I can do that. Just promise me, please," I shook my head.
I didn't take goodbyes. I was way too scared that I was really losing her.
