Chapter 9

Alice glared around. he was right, there was no one else except the old race track manager who soon went inside his office.

''okay, let me make this more easier for you, let me take you to my favorite part of the city''.

He grabbed Alice's hand and took him to his car, he opened the car door for her acting like the gentleman he was.

''now where are you taking me?''

''ughh not the question answer session again, it's a surprise''

''oh, i love surprises''

while jay was taking Alice to his favorite place,they passed the 'Alfredo art gallery'

''IT WAS THE ALFREDO GRAND OPENING TODAY! HOW COULD I HAVE POSSIBLY FORGOTTEN?''

''my angel is an art lover aye?''

jay suddenly turned the car around and parked it right at front of the gallery.

''What now alice, are you going to wait for the grand opening ceremony to end? hurry up now''

''is it for real?  Yaay! I just love Alfredo and his work is just amazing. jeez I cant wait''

''lets go then''

Jay opened the gallery door for alice.

''you have to stop opening doors for me jay, you look like a darling and that's a turn on.hehe''

''well now I have to do that'' jay said in a delightful tone, just when a guy with a thick French accent cut them off

''bonjour mad'am, welcome to thee 'Alfredo art gallery', happy viewing".

Alice watched in amusement all the work of 'Alfredo the talented'. She took her time while looking at each painting and told jay the hidden meaning behind it. Jay on the other hand was continually looking at Alice .At first she ignored but later on wards, when the paintings were almost finished  she said

''Look at the art work jay.Its amazing''

He smiled and said ''I am looking at the world's most beautiful art work''

Alice punched him slightly on his arm

''oh jay, stop! ''

She blushed.

''Angel its already 9:30 PM and my reservation is only until 11, lets move.''

''reservation?  Let me guess, you're taking me to a fancy restaurant? ''

''haha no, keep guessing''

During the journey , Alice kept on guessing and jay kept on saying  'no', until finally they stopped at a place on the outskirts of the city .jay hopped out of the car and grabbed Alice's hand

''my lady, my I''

''hehe, you may''

He led Alice inside a dark place which seemed to be a forest. No soul inside except one old man who just grabbed jay's reservation ticket.

''umm jay, I still don't know where we are but it sure is dark here ''

Jay said nothing and for a moment just kept on guiding Alice inside the thick, dark wood's  and then he said

''Look up''

Alice's eyes grew wider as she saw the sky full of stars. Alice had never seen such a starry sky before.

''Wow jay this is just...perfect. I cant believe that everyday is such a starry night but then again we cannot see it as we are blinded by the city nights''

Jay smiled. There was a table for two with food already placed and a bottle of fine, expensive wine .jay took hold of the bottle  and poured it into two glasses.  After the had their fancy dinner jay said

''Now Alice, I won't be with you for long but..''

Just as he was saying, he noticed the happiness of Alice started to drown.

''Angel no, I was saying that as long as we are together that is forever, lets make the best out of it''

Alice knew that forever was not enough and yet forever was not what he meant, but for a moment she just wanted to get lost in jay's eyes and forget all the problems she had for a while.

**shhrrrr**

''um jay did you hear that?''

''that's just the wind, chill angel''

''yeah you're right.''

''Angel afraid?'' he said in a teasing tone.

''no'' she replied. After which jay moved his chair next to Alice.she placed her head on his shoulder.

There it was again, that noise but this time after a while a loud unknown voice came

''SURROUND THEM NOW''

''OH FUG, ALICE RUN''

Alice was not sure what was going on. Jay grabbed Alice arm tightly and ran as fast as he could towards the car.

''OH NO THEY HAVE THE CAR SURROUNDED''

''who are 'they' '' alice asked in a terrified voice.

''shh don't be afraid Alice''

''but I am jay''

She hugged him. Jay pulled her away and held her shoulders by both his hands

''there is something I need to tell you..'' Before jay could complete the sentence Alice saw a man with an iron rod approach from behind jay.

''JAY WATCH OUT''

She pushed jay out of the way and the rod his her head. Everything became hazy all she could hear was jay saying

''Alice stay with me, please.''
