Chapter 26 - Dare You To Move

Avie's on her way home from school nung may biglaang tumawag sa kanya.

"Kayo po ba si Ms. Avie Ramos?" the man said on the phone.

"Opo, ako nga po. Sino po sila?" Avie asked.

"We are from the Escoda Police. Tatay niyo po ba si Jordi Ramos? Nandito po siya sa ospital."

"Huh? Ano pong nangyari sa tatay ko?" Avie asked. She's trying not to panic.

"Nagcollapse po siya kanina. Pakipuntahan niyo po siya dito."

"Sige po. Salamat po sa paginform sa amin." Avie said.

Avie's on the verge of breaking down, but she's doing her best to calm down. Kahit na hindi maganda ang naranasan niya sa kanyang ama, she chose to tell the status of his father to her family. Agad-agad niyang tinawagan si mama niya.

"Ma, si papa raw po nasa ospital. Nagcollapse raw po." Avie said.

"Ano? Saang ospital raw sinugod si papa mo?" Avie's mum said in a shocked state.

"Sa Messianic Hospital ma. Malapit lang dito. Puntahan na natin si papa!" Avie said.

"Sasabihan ko kapatid mo agad. Sana maging mabuti na ang lagay ng papa mo!" Avie's mum said. You can hear the worry in her voice.

"Magiging okay din po si papa, ma." Avie said.

Avie tried to be strong in the times of desperation. Next niyang tinawagan si James. Nasa duty si James as bartender sa bahay ni Mary.

"James, si papa, nasa ospital. I need you here." Avie said.

"Huh? Napaano si papa mo?" James asked.

"Nagcollapse raw habang nasa selda niya. Masama na raw ang condition ng papa ko. I need you here, James. Hindi ko alam ang gagawin ko." Avie said. She's in the verge of tears.

"Sige, papunta na ako dyan." James said. James thought, kung laging nakasuporta at nandyan si Avie para sa akin, ganoon din dapat ako.

James immediately went to Mary's room.

"Ma'am Mary, eearly out po muna ako." James said to Mary. Mary was in her room, answering some emails from some fashion photographers.

"James, bakit?" Mary asked.

"May emergency po. Napaano yung tatay ni Avie. Kailangan niya ako." James answered.

"Hala! Sige, mag-out ka na. Emergency yan. Pakisabi kay Avie, na nandito lang din ako, my thoughts are with her." Mary said.

"Makakarating, ma'am. Salamat po." James said. James took his Seat Cupra car and went immediately to Avie's house.

"Ate, napaano si papa? Sana maging maayos na si papa. I'm worried about him." Annalyn said.

"Magiging okay rin si papa. Magpakatatag lang tayo." Avie said. She hugged Annalyn and both of them prayed before they headed to the hospital.

Finally, they arrived at the ICU of Messianic Hospital. Finally, nakita na ni Avie ang tatay niya. Her father treated her family bad. Lagi siyang lasing tuwing gabi. Binubugbog niya si Avie at ang mga kapatid nito, kahit na ang asawa niya mismo.

Now, he's in his deathbed, nanghihina ang katawan at handa nang harapin ang kanyang kamatayan.

Despite the fact that Avie's father did her harm, Avie's ready to forgive and forget the sins that her father has done.
