Only, Ikaris' eyes weren't burning with curiosity. They were burning with anger as Akoi let out a gasp, backing up the minute she saw him.
"You—you shouldn't be here!" Was all Akoi managed to spit out. It was pathetic. It was a beyond pathetic excuse, but Akoi didn't know what else to say.
It had been thirty years since she'd seen Ikaris. Thirty years and that was the first time she ever attempted to move on. Thirty years and this was the one time he had to find her in Greece. On a date.
And Ikaris was not happy.
"I see you've been busy," He commented slowly, choosing his words carefully. His eyes flickered to the window, and they narrowed at something causing Akoi to hope and pray it wasn't Jerry. "Greece—even I have to admit it was clever. You've always hated Greece so you figured that I would never look here. And you were right."
Akoi continued to back up. Ikaris made his way towards her. She wasn't sure why she was so scared, as she knew that he would never hurt her.
Physically—that is—because he had hurt her emotionally plenty of times. But the last time was the one that hit the nail in the coffin.
"What are you doing here?" Akoi asked him, voice shaking. Her tone was slightly shocked, slightly angered as she stared him down.
Ikaris, who wore the same look on his face that he did thirty years ago, and six thousand years before that. She hated it.
She hated how he always looked at her like she was his sun, like he needed her to breathe or something. Akoi hated that look because she always fell for it. But not this time she promised herself.
Ikaris stepped forward. "I've come to deliver news that I think you should know," he told her, "But I see that amongst that, there are other things we need to discuss."
"There's nothing that I need to discuss with you," Akoi suddenly spit at him, her head frantically shaking. "Everything I had to say to you, I said one hundred years ago when I begged you not to leave. You can't just—you can't just show up here and—"
Ikaris cut her off by saying the one thing she never thought he would say.
"Ajax is dead," He told her quietly, making Akoi stop in her tracks. "Sersi, Sprite and I found her yesterday, at her ranch. One of the deviants got to her and we think that they're back. We think that we may have to fight them again and we need your help."
