THERE WAS A CENTURIES WORTH OF EMOTIONS IN THEIR KISS. Ikaris kissed her desperately while Akoi kissed him to erase all the fear and pain she had experienced during their time apart. She used Ikaris to heal the very wounds that he had left, and it worked, her husband wrapping an arm around her waist to pull her closer.
He could not believe that the moment he dreamed of for a 100 years was finally there. Sure they had kissed, never truly being able to stay away from one another, but this case was different.
Ikaris finally felt the walls that he had helped Akoi build to keep him out crumble down. He felt as close to her as they used to be, and he was ecstatic as he pulled her into his lap, still deep in the kiss.
Akoi had to pull away because her head was spinning so much. Ikaris looked disappointed, and much like she did with their first kiss, leaned back in.
But Akoi turned her head away, shaking it softly as she looked around.
"Not here," she told him gently, leaning in to whisper in his ear. "Not in the open."
Akoi trailed her hands down his body making Ikaris shiver. He grew excited, as he knew exactly what she meant. Standing up, he offered her a hand so that they could walk back to the cabin, and that when something got in the way of their plans first.
Akoi gasped as Ikaris was suddenly ripped away from her, yelling as something swooped down and took him before she could even process what was going on. She screamed Ikaris' name, but it wasn't long before he was gone, and out of the corner of her eye, she saw another deviant coming towards her.
"GUYS QUICK, YOU HAVE TO COME! IKARIS HAS BEEN TAKEN AND HE—"
Akoi screamed as a deviant suddenly jumped at her, the Panther-like creature taking her by surprise and knocking her to the ground.
It's screech was something she had not heard in over a millennium, and she could not deny that she was slightly terrified and, rusty.
But feeling her power surge through her once again almost felt like the most natural thing in the world.
Akoi used her raw strength to simply push the creature off of her, and her eyes glowed golden as her hands lit up with the same color. From behind her, Kingo and Sprite appeared along with Sersi.
Ikaris was still absent, which made her worried sick, but she knew she could not let it distract her from the fight.
So, she focused on the deviant in front of her while her comrades separated to fight off other ones that had appeared.
