AKOI COULDNT BELIEVE IT. SHE DIDNT WANT TO BELIEVE IT, holding in her sobs as Sersi broke the news. The Eternal's were in fact not put on this earth just to protect humans. The true purpose was to raise them like cattle, and then watch them get slaughtered once they had fulfilled their purpose.

Those weren't the exact words Sersi had used, but that was exactly how Aiko saw it.

She had spent thousands of years of her life protecting humans, and watching them grow despite all their flaws. She had seen the best and the worst of humanity, the kind parts and the bitter. And somewhere along the way, she began to love this little planet, and now what she was hearing was that it would be ripped away from her just like everything else.

Ikaris watched her with a guilty look on his face as she struggled not to cry, and Akoi missed it because she couldn't read Ikaris as easily as he could read her. So she didn't quite know what he had to feel guilty for, and she didn't care at the moment.

The only thing she felt was betrayal both from Arishem and worst of all—Ajax.

The woman that was like her mother had known about this for centuries, even before their time on earth. She had known, and she had never once told Aiko, letting her believe the lies, and knowing that it would destroy her. She knew how she felt about humanity, and even though they were so so many flaws about the planet, Akoi did not want to see it gone.

She voiced this at the dinner table, with everyone else around her. And while most people agreed, Ikaris simply sucked in a breath.

"I do not wish for the planet to be destroyed, either," Sersi revealed, shaking her head. She seemed distraught ever since she had talked to Arishem, which was understandable. They all felt that way.

"But what are we to do?" Kingo said, defeated. "The birth of a celestial is something that has been happening for billions of years. Even as Eternals, there is nothing we can do."

"There might be," Sersi revealed.

Akoi snapped her neck towards her friend, her eyes wide, only too see that Sersi was already looking at her. Besides Sersi, Akoi seemed to be the only other Eternal that deeply cared about human life.

Though Akoi wasn't personally attached to humans like Sersi was, she still saw the beauty in humanity. She saw the beauty in finding her own humanity when Ikaris had left her, and she used the human world as a steppingstone to find out who she was beyond just an Eternal. And along the way, Akoi learned that there was a little bit of humanity in everyone, including her.
