"So let's get this clear." Ruby pressed her hands against the desk, "You two met each other almost two months ago through your parents, went out for lunch, ran into each other at this university, dined with his family, and finally decided to get married."

Melina sipped in her drink, "Correct,"

"How're you alright with this? Have you lost your remaining piece of mind?" Ruby shook her shoulders roughly, her eyes widening with every passing second.

"Cut it out. It's not that big of a deal,"

"Bitch, it is!"

"Language, Ruby," She pointed a threatening finger at her.

Ruby appeared more shocked and flabbergasted than the girl who was going to get married. She opened up about the news in the morning and half a day had already passed, but the blonde still couldn't digest it.

Maxwell leaned closer, an excited smile playing on his face, "So did he romantically propose to you?"

She knew she wasn't going to be allowed to drink her milkshake anytime soon. Placing it on the table, she sighed in tiredness, "No-

"That horrible jerk didn't even propose to you?!" She erupted, standing up in utter disbelief.

Melina looked around to meet the judgmental stares of humanity thrown their way. Immediately hiding her face with a book, she grabbed a hold of Ruby's arm and dragged her down until her pale ass finally perched against the chair.

"Could you be any louder?" She hissed, pissed.

She pouted, averting her gaze, "Sorry, but I don't think you deserve this."

Maxwell agreed, "She's correct.."

She sighed, rolling her eyes out. She was exhausted from her friends constantly pitying her and expressing their sympathy for her predicament. She regretted letting them know of her marriage and she doubted if she could trust them not publicizing the matter anymore.

"I understand your worries, but I'm perfectly fine with it. We're going to get back to our normal lives after the marriage ceremony. We won't meddle with each other's personal lives at all. He's going to work and I'm going to continue my education, just like how it's always been," She explained, infuriated on the inside.

Silence prevailed among them and the guilt seeped through her.

She turned to face them, "Guys, I didn't tell you this for you to feel bad for me. I want to invite you two to my wedding."

Ruby's eyes lit up, "Really?"

"Yes, I need my two closest friends by my side on that day," She smiled, "That is if you're willing to."

Maxwell and Ruby exchanged glances and looked back at her not pitiably but supportively.

"Is that a yes?"
