A marriage is like a rose; a romantic keepsake having the combination of thorns and petals. The red hue of the petals symbolizes love, and passion and is soft to touch. The thorns that lay on the stem, however, represent adversity and sacrifice.

After an hour of riding in silence, they pulled up in front of a large building.
It was a renowned jewelry store that had close tie-ups with his family. He was clueless when it came to fashion, but he entrusted this establishment since his parents had purchased their rings here at the time of their marriage.
He unbuckled his seatbelts and glanced over at her. Her tired eyes hinted she had just woken up from a disturbed sleep, processing what was happening.
"Melina, we're here," He softly said, earning a frown from her.
She hummed in response and tried to sit erect while rubbing her neck.
All along, she had fallen asleep in an uncomfortable position and that was all thanks to the silence in the car. She never spoke much, but her energy was lower than usual today. During the ride, she zoned out multiple times and absentmindedly stared outside the window.
With hazy eyes, she caught him staring at her.
"Is this the place?" She asked in her deep, sleepy voice.
He nodded, "Yes."
They got off the car and climbed up the stairs that led to the automatic sliding doors. Once they were in, they were immediately met with the friendly gazes of the employees.
Zayden respectfully shook one of the familiar employee's hands.
"We've made a private appointment under the name Zayden and Melina," He stated, earning a nod from the woman.
"This way, Sir," She gestured them to the stairs that led to the next floor.
The two began climbing up the stairs, with Melina leading the way for obvious reasons. He couldn't risk her missing a step and falling off again like that day in the café.
He came beside her once they reached the next floor.
His secretary, Ben, stood there, mindlessly chattering away with a female employee. As if sensing Zayden's stare, the two of them headed in their direction.
"You two are here, finally,"
He eyed Melina head to toe who only returned a blank look.
He scooted closer to her to ease her bewilderment, "This is my secretary, Ben."
"Oh," She offered her hand, "Nice to meet you, I'm Melina."
He gladly shook her hand, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Melina."
The female employee who stood beside Ben offered her a sweet smile.
"Ben is quite acquainted with the store. He'll help you to pick a suitable design for the ring." He stated.
