Tough Thursdays

I got back from university early today, and boy am I glad to be finally at peace. The hush and bush of college life was something I'll never fully get used to. The busier I get, the more I seek solace in being alone.

Grabbing a bottle of flavored milk from the kitchen, I took my study essentials and headed towards my room.

I could study in any corner of this big house thanks to its quietness; a major contrast to the neighborhood that I was raised in for my whole life. I miss home now and then, but I also realize that I could go back whenever I wanted to. The home was always waiting for me.

I turned on my phone to see several texts and missed calls from. . . Maxwell?

Wondering what's up with him, I decided to shrug it off and hop on another social media site. As I mindlessly scrolled away, I stumbled across a certain picture.

My face lit up the moment I saw a picture of Zayden.

It's not every day that my busy husband posted, so it was a big deal for me. And judging by the number of likes and comments, it was for others too. . .

My books could wait.

I quickly searched for his contact and began texting him, regardless of disturbing him during his work hours.

Me: Hey, cutie...

I bit my lip at my impulsive actions. I didn't want to be seen clingy but screw it.

Zayden: Love, you're back from college?

I did a little dance at his fast reply. Why on earth was I acting like a teenage girl?

Me: Yes. When are you gonna be back?

Zayden: Missing me?

Me: What do you think?

Zayden: Isn't that why you're texting me and smiling at the phone? ;)

I blushed at his text, pressing my lips together. He knew everything, didn't he?

Me: If you were by my side, I'd have kissed you.

Zayden: I'm in a meeting right now. I'm all yours when I get back home, alright?

I pouted, remembering it was a Thursday and that Zayden would come home late today.

Wait, home?

Did I just think that?
