Walking into the office Monday morning, I was refreshed and ready to tackle the work already piled on my desk. I popped into the staff room and prepared myself a coffee as Carrie waltzed in. She had a glow about her that led me to believe Natalia must have spent the evening with her.

"What are you smirking at?" She nudged me out of the way so she could get to the coffee machine.

"You just have a look about you. Did you have a good night?" I wiggled my eyebrows with a laugh. She slapped my arm.

"Natalia stayed over if you must know. We had a lovely evening. What about you? How was the rest of your weekend?" Her blonde locks swayed as she stirred her cream into her coffee.

"It was fine. Quinn and I had a pretty great date. I spent yesterday going over some documents and trying not to pester her." I laughed nervously. I didn't want to come across as so needy. Carrie, of course, gave me the full-blown, I want to know everything smile. Thankfully before I could answer her, Quinn walked in. She looked radiant, wearing a white button-down with a grey skirt and black heels. She was the perfect secretary fantasy to come to life. A part of me had a twinge of jealousy when I realized the glow she carried had to of been from whatever she had been up to with Wade. However, the jealousy wasn't typical. I didn't feel like bashing his face in. No. I wanted to congratulate him for being a lucky bastard and having her first. How sick was I?

"Hey, guys." Her greeting was warm enough, but I could tell she was unsure when speaking to me.

"Good Morning, Quinnie." Carrie teased, giving her a quick hug. "I'm off to slave away; I'll let you two have a moment."

"How are you?" I managed to choke out, rubbing the back of my neck.

"I'm good. Looks like a busy day ahead." She shifted on her feet, biting that bottom lip.

"Quinn..." I sat my coffee down, stepping toward her. "I don't want this to be awkward. I know you were with Wade yesterday, probably overnight. It's fine, really it is. As messed up as it is, I'm happy if you're happy." I shook my head with a laugh. "I should want to beat the shit out of him, but I hope you two had an amazing time." I reached forward, cupping her face in my hand. She closed her eyes briefly, leaning into me.

"This is so strange." Her laugh was uncomfortable.

"If at any time this is too much, we can stop. You're in charge here." I kept my hand gently holding her face, doing my best not to slam my mouth down to hers.

"It's not too much. I just... I think it'll take time to adjust?" She shrugged. "I had an amazing time with Wade." She spoke softly, watching my face for a reaction. "The second I got here, though, I couldn't wait to see you." My heartbeat picked up speed at her words.

I leaned forward and down, hovering my lips just above hers for a moment before making contact. She tasted sweet, like her cherry lip balm. Her lips parted right away, giving me access while pushing into me. It was clear she wanted the kiss just as much as I did. My hand instinctively gripped her curvy hip. I tugged her forcefully into me, wanting her to feel how badly I wanted her. She was the first to pull away, with the cutest smile on her face.

"Sorry, I should be more professional at work, huh?" I leaned my forehead against hers, still holding her to me.

"Speaking of, we should probably get to it." Quinn straightened out her clothes, then popped her lips together, attempting to fix her makeup. "Could we have dinner tonight? The three of us. I want to...I want to talk about everything." I nodded, feeling a sickness wash over me. She was already going to break it off, make a choice or leave us both. It hadn't been a week of trying this; she was done. Wade had won her over.

"Don't look so upset; it's fine, I promise." This time she cupped my face, rubbing along the stubble I'd neglected to shave this morning. "Let's get to work, Mr. Mayfield." With a wink and a laugh, she turned on her heels and headed out toward her office.

The workday seemed to drag on, and I found it incredibly difficult to focus. Quinn was in and out like usual, delivering messages or documents as needed. I had hoped to spend the lunch break with her, but Mr. Asher requested me alone in his office to discuss the Scholts deal. Quinn didn't seem to mind as she headed off with Carrie, promising to bring me back something.

"Mr. Asher." I greeted him as I pushed into his office.

"Grant, How are you?" He didn't look up from his desk upon my entry. His voice did seem a little chipper than in the last several weeks; I hoped that to be a good sign.

"I'm well, Sir. How are you? The Scholts deal looks great." I opened my laptop after sitting across from him.

"I'm just fine, Thank you. Yes, the Scholts deal does look great. I'm quite pleased with how everything is coming together. I'll have to do something for Wade in appreciation for his cooperation with Denise. She seemed happy with how they're meeting went, enough so that she made sure this went through. Now that it has, we have other deals to finish. I will need you to head up to Denver for this next project. Will you be able to do that? Quinn will go, too, to assist. I'm quite happy with her work and how the Boston deals came through."

Mr. Asher was full steam ahead; the Scholts deal had him excited and hungry in a way I hadn't seen him in a long time. When he mentioned another work trip with Quinn, I couldn't help myself, mentally fist-pumping the air. I kept my composure, though, nodding as he spoke and taking notes.

"That sounds good. Yes, she's been a wonderful asset." I tried not to sound too enthusiastic, not wanting to set off any suspicion with the boss.

"I'm glad to hear it. She seems like a lovely young lady, and I'm happy to have her on board. I've emailed you everything needed for the week, and I have Carrie working on travel, so she'll have that information to you soon as well."

Taking my cue to leave, I stood, nodding before reaching my hand out to his. "Always a pleasure, Sir. I'll see you later." He nodded, waving his hand dismissively before I left the room. I couldn't help the smile plastered on my face, hearing our boss speak so highly of Quinn, our deals were coming together, and best yet, we were heading off on another work trip. This meant time alone together in a beautiful city. I couldn't wait to treat her to all the fun things.
