One year later
Wade
"It's absolutely stunning." Quinn raved as she took in the master bath. I'd specifically picked out the largest soaking tub I could find, knowing how much she loved her baths and baths with us. "This whole place, it's come together so.. Perfectly." The smile on her face was worth every penny we poured into our forever home. We had an extra large bedroom for the three of us; we had a home office for us to share as well, and then two guest rooms. The talk of children had come up a few times, but we still weren't solid on that; perhaps one day, they would be a nursery, but for now, they were ready to host any friend or family that wanted to stay over.
One of my favorite parts of the house was the back deck. The whole house had a wraparound porch, but the back piece was extended into a gazebo. I'd had a larger swing installed to hold all of us comfortably and for Quinn to enjoy. We'd moved in most of the things we were keeping, and the new furniture pieces had already arrived. We were settling in quite nicely. The last year with Quinn had been a dream. Our relationship was unconventional, which we were reminded about occasionally, but it worked for us. Grant and I wore almost constant smiles from the love of Quinn, and I'd like to think she did the same from our love.
Was life perfect? Absolutely not. Nothing ever is. My Mother had come for a visit, and it took a bit before she warmed up to Quinn and our relationship. Grant's parents weren't speaking to him at the moment because of their issues with a poly relationship. Quinn struggled a bit with it, feeling guilty, but he's reassured her multiple times that this is exactly what he wants. Thankfully his sister, Georgie, was beyond supportive and had even come to visit a few weeks ago. She and Quinn became instant friends.
"I'm huffing and puffing, moving things around, and you two are up here planning a bath?" Grant grumbled into the room.
"Aw baby, I'm sorry. I was just admiring the tub. We can all take a bath later if it makes you feel better." Quinn cooed as she sashayed toward him before he snatched her up into his arms.
"What were you moving?" I questioned, knowing we had the plan to execute.
"The sofa needed to be moved a bit. I straightened the bookshelves in the office, too, and made sure all the boxes of books were in there. Everything else is ready, though, perfect." He winked at me.
"I suppose we should figure out dinner." I rubbed my hands together and headed out downstairs toward the kitchen, leaving them alone for a moment. Once I made sure they weren't behind me, I dashed down the steps and through the kitchen out to the deck. The blanket and throw pillows were on the swing, the flowers were placed nicely around the arch, and it looked perfect. Now, we just had to get through dinner.
I made it back to the kitchen before they appeared, figuring they were sneaking in some alone time. I dug through the refrigerator and pulled out a few ingredients for a meal, then checked to make sure all of the cookware I needed was there. I had dinner halfway finished by the time they joined me, both looking a little bit disheveled, sneaky things.
"It smells amazing in here." Quinn grinned, coming over to give me a quick peck on the cheek.
"Have fun?" I waggled my brows.
"You'll get your turn, Mr." She tickled my sides.
It felt like it took forever to finish dinner, eat and clean up after. My insides were churning. We'd weathered so much and handled this poly relationship smoothly so far; I was anxious that we would finally hit a bump. I could only say a silent prayer that it all worked out.

All through dinner, I had to keep my hand on my leg to stop it from bouncing uncontrollably. The last year with Quinn had been amazing, and I was hoping to wrap it up with even more amazing things to come. When Wade and I sat down and talked it out, how it would work and what we wanted for the future, we knew what we wanted to do.
While he kept her busy looking over the house, I set up the swing and the flowers around the gazebo. We wanted to make it as inviting as possible so it would be a place she could always go to and have good memories and relax.
"Beers on the deck?" Quinn held out three beers with a smile.
"Of course." Wade and I both answered at the same time. We followed her out the door and to the gazebo. She paused for a moment, smiling at the flowers and the swing with the blanket and pillow.
"This is so pretty; I love it."
We all took our spots, sipping our beverages and lightly swinging back and forth. We enjoyed the quiet sounds of nature and just enjoyed the company of each other. Quinn leaned her head over onto my shoulder and lifted her feet up into Wade's lap.
"So, we were thinking..."
"Uh oh. Whos we? You two?" She teased.
"Yes, us. Silly. We've been thinking about things, our life, and settling into this house." Wade continued.
"Wade and I agreed on what type of future we saw, and well, we were hoping you would see it the same way." Quinn sat upright as Wade and I stood, setting our bottles on the table before turning to her. I quickly grabbed her bottle, sitting it down before Wade and I got on one knee.
Quinn gasped and covered her mouth. I knew she was surprised because one of her only concerns about our relationship was marriage, not being able to marry us both, and sharing a last name legally. Wade and I had taken care of at least one of those things, hopefully to her liking.
"We're both down here to ask you to take our hands in marriage. To live this life together, the three of us together, for the rest of our lives. Will you marry me?" Wade spoke softly, reaching into his pocket and pulling out his ring.
"We can't imagine life without you, and we don't want to; through the good, the bad, and the tough, we want you, always you. Quinn, will you marry me?" I pulled out my ring, the one we had custom-made to fit against the ring Wade had selected.
"What?! How? I mean...yes, of course." She was a blubbering mess once we put the rings on her finger. She held her hand out, just staring at it before looking back at us. We both continued to kneel before her, letting her take it all in. "We can't legally do this. I don't... I can't only marry one of you." She whispered out in worry.
"Well...legally, no. We were hoping to have a commitment ceremony, though because we're fully committed to you. It doesn't have to be legal to be true, Quinn. It's really just a piece of paper. In our minds and our hearts, you'll be our wife, and we'll be your husbands." Wade explained. Quinn smiled through her tears, jumping up and reaching for our hands. We stood and embraced before she took us by the face one at a time, and kissed with such passion it almost made me weak in the knees.
"I love you both so much it's crazy." She leaned into us, wrapping our arms around her.
There's no place I would have rather been at that moment, soaking in all of the love and happiness that I never imagined having, and never knew I needed. My best friend, and my woman in our forever home, living happily ever after.
