Stuck - Bando

Leaving my apartment, there was no one occupying the hallway nor was anybody on the staircase. Which for the towers said a lot, "Twinskiii!"

Turning around just in time, as Kenzo came dropping her arm around my shoulders. I shook my head at her, "Yo I ain't seen you in a minute Kenz, where have you been?''I asked her

Kenzo rolled her eyes, "These Niggahs don't be leavin' me alone, party after party and show after show" She said leaning on me

I chuckled, "And where you headin' now?"

She groaned stopping in her tracks, "I gotta go to my cousin's and help her with her hair"

I patted her on the back, "Well it's been real but goodluck with that" I told her

Kenzo sighed giving me a hug before making her way down the hall and to her cousin's apartment. I continued towards the elevator, and stepped on not realizing someone else was already on there until I looked up and saw Bando.

I didn't know much about him besides the fact that he hung out with Kenzo, and Dthang all the time. He was much quieter than the two who were always the life of the party, and always causing scenes.

I was brought out of my thoughts when the lights and song inside of the elevator began flickering and going in and out. Looking over to the pad, the numbers went dark and then the lights inside of the elevator turned off. The backup lights came on, and I looked over to Bando who began cussing under his breath.

"These fucking elevators man"

I chuckled, "What?" He asked

I looked over to him shaking my head, "Nothin' "

Bando kissed his teeth going over to the pad and pressing the button to open the doors, "Pressin' it ain't gonna make it open" I said

He turned his head towards me, "How you know that?" He asked

I chuckled, "The elevator stopped working, and its stuck in between floors" I said pointing up at the numbers on the top

"So what that got to do with the door not openin?"

I stared at him for a moment before letting out a breath, "Alright so because the elevator is stopped and stuck , the buttons ain't gon work Bando. The only one that gon work is this one" I said pressing the emergency button

He looked over to me, "Ain't shit happen" He said

"It's an alarm that alerts whoevers at the desk that the elevator has stopped working so they could get someone to fix it" I told him as I leaned against the railing

Bando smacked his lips crossing his arms as he pulled his phone out and started doing something on it. A moment went by in silence, and I couldn't help but look over to Bando; he reminded me of like a background character of some sorts. I didn't know much about him but like I said earlier he was always there with Kenzo and Dthang.

I guess he felt me staring at him because he suddenly drifted his attention from his phone straight into my eyes. "Y'know that's how Niggah's get shot right" He said raising an eyebrow

I shook my head staring at him like he was crazy, "I'm sorry what now?"

Bando sighed placing his phone in his pocket, "That's how Niggah's get shot, by starin' too hard" He repeated

I chuckled, "That's what comes to your mind when someones starin' at you?" I asked him

"Bro you starin' at me , what else suppose to come to my mind?"

I shrugged, "Ion know maybe just askin' or sayin' can I help you y'know like normal Niggahs" I said

Bando nodded his head, "Do I look like a normal Niggah to you?" He asked motioning to himself

I rolled my eyes, "If you're askin' do you look like every other Niggah on the street yeah, yeah you do"

Bando chuckled shaking his head "I see you got jokes"

"It's what I'm known for" I told him

"What else you known for?"He questioned

I raised an eyebrow, "What do you mean?" I asked

Bando sighed, "Tell me bout you, I be seein' you around with Kenzo and shit all the time and Dee be sayin' yous cool people" He said

I placed my hand over my heart, "He says I'm cool people?" I said mockingly

Bando smacked his lips, "Bro"

I chuckled, "Everytime we're together we just cuss each other out so it's nice to hear he thinks that way of me" I explained, "But what do you wanna know?" I asked him

Bando shrugged his shoulders, "Ion know how long you been here?"

I looked down at my phone, "Well we been in this elevator now for 15 minutes sooo"

"Bro you know what I'm talkin' bout" He said kissing his teeth

I smiled, "I been here for 5 years now officically" I said

Bando nodded his head, "You like it here?" He asked

I shrugged, "Y'know it's home , could have better Wi-fi and elevators but y'know it does what it needs to do" I told him chuckling

It falls silent between us two again, but this time Bando is either staring at me or past me at the elevator wall. "How come I don't be seein' you with nobody?" He asked after a while

I raised an eyebrow, "What do you mean? We just talked about me bein' around Kenzo and Dee all the time" I said

Bando sighed, "I knew somethin' was off with you" He muttered

"Niggah what's that supposed to me?" I questioned

Bando chuckled, "Lemme just say it in a way you gon understand, where your Niggah at?" He asked

"Oh that" I said

Bando nodded, "Yeah that Niggah where he at?"

I shrugged, "Ion know probably where your girl is at" I said

Bando laughed, "Aight , you got it" He said

I chuckled, "But on a real note I don't have a Niggah, it's just me , myself and I in that apartment" I told him

Before Bando could say something the elevator made some sounds , clicking on and off then eventually starting up and finally going down. When we made it to the first floor Bando walked over extending his hand out to help me up off the floor, just as the doors opened. "Oh shit Bandito!"

Both of our hands turned towards the voice of Dthang who had a big smile his face, "What Niggah?" He asked

Dee just chuckled, "Treat her well, she ain't no regular smoochie"He said

I mugged him, "Niggah I ain't a smoochie to begin with"

Dee laughed, "Right , right my bad she a lady"

I rolled my eyes, "Maybe she gon be my lady one day, she don't seem so bad"
