Sitting in the chair I felt like my leg was shaking a mile a minute, and that the room was getting smaller and smaller as the time went on. I looked over to Mom, as she offered me a small smile and squeezed my hand that rest on the table. "Everything's going to be fine" She said

I nodded and just then the door opened and in walked Kay with a tank, and those bright orange pants on. His hands cuffed together and his typical mug on his face, the guard walked him over to the table and uncuffed his hands before going to stand against the wall.

It was silent for a moment before Mom stood up going over, and hugging him, "I'm good Ma, I'm good" He said chuckling as he hugged her

When she pulled away she squeezed his shoulder before stepping to the side, "You ain't miss me?" He asked a smirk on his face

I felt as the tears welled up as I stood in front of him, and the moment he wrapped his arms around me I felt as they fell. "I'm sorry BabyGirl"

We sat there for hours all of us just trying to wrap our heads around the situation. Understanding the reasoning behind his arrest but not understanding why they hadn't used other clear evidence to release him.

Every time I could feel myself getting overwhelmed Kay would look over to me from across the table and nod his head, "You got this?"He whispered

"So with everything and all of this information we're set to go to trial soon, and hopefully get him released" Mr. Leemon said as he looked between both Mom and I

She held my hand and gave it a little squeeze, before looking back over to him and nodding his head. "But what do we need to do? Is there something that we need to prepare for the trial or-or what?" She asked

He sighed looking over to Kay and then us, "There isn't much to prepare, we might have to call you up to the stand to give a recant of the events Y/N but if that is the case then they will have a chance to cross examine and question you as well on the events that took place are you okay with that?"

"Nah I don't want her involved"

Everyone's head snapped towards Kay, "Kay" I said almost at a whisper

He shook his head, "No nah ion want you on that stand, they can talk about me and my character however the hell they want I'm not gon let them do that to you" He said once again shaking his head

"Kay-"I said trying to speak, "No end of discussion, ion want her involved"

When I looked at him, he didn't look back at me he just kept his eyes look down at his hands that were under the table clenching his jaw. I knew when he did that there was no chance in changing his mind, he was going to say the last line repetitively until he was over the scenario in his mind.

"Kevin, Papa listen to what the Mr.Leemon is saying there is a chance that Y/N could help your case she was there." Mom said attempting to get him to change his mind

Kay just continued to shake his head, his jaw clenched even tighter. "Kay man just hear everyone out" Setty said sighing

I looked between the boys and Kay, the more they tried to plead with him I could see the anger rising inside of him with each one. Without saying anything I pushed the chair back, which made the room go quiet but Kay didn't seem to notice it as I made my way around the created distance between us.

Bending down, I placed my hand on his face making his jaw slowly become unclenched and his shoulders relax a little bit. I rubbed the side of his face, and he relaxed into my hand. "Kay, look at me" I said softly

Kay let out a sigh, as he turned his head towards me and it looked like he was holding back everything as best as he could. "I won't let them do it to you" He said letting out a breathe

I gave him a small smile, "Kay nobody can do anything to me that I don't allow them to do" I reassured him

"It's different this time than the last" As he said this his voice was breaking slightly

He reached his cuffed hands out to wipe away tears that I didn't realize had slipped down my face, I chuckled slightly, "I'm good Kay, just please let me help " I asked him

He'd closed his eyes, and when he opened them he had still shook his head slowly. "I'm sorry" He whispered

I gave him a reassuring smile, as I placed a kiss on his cheek and let out a sigh. "It's alright"

I looked over to Mom who had tears sliding down her cheeks as she tried her best not to let the cry that I know was threatening to escape from her mouth. Kay didn't pick up his head as he dropped them into his hands, and I went around to table giving her a hug.

Nobody said anything for a while as the heavy emotions surrounded the room, the boys were facing the wall as they tried not to let tears shed and Mom was trying her best to stop crying entirely. "As sad as this is our time is almost over here, so I'll give you all time to say your goodbyes for now until the date of the trial" Mr. Leemon said

I nodded my head as he got up, and giving both Mom and I reassuring hugs. Once the door closed behind us no one said anything for awhile. Wiping her tears from her face Mom gave Kay a smile, "Papa" She began which made Kay's head raise slowly as he looked over to her

"You're gonna be home soon, there's not a doubt in my mind that you're going to be home soon. And we're going to be here every step of the way to make sure you're gonna be home soon" She said squeezing his hand

Kay smiled over to her, "I know you are Ma, and you ain't gotta cry no more you raised a G and Imma be alright in here" He said

She nodded, kissing his hand and then moving over to kiss both of his cheeks. "No fighting in there or I promise the next time you see me Imma really beat ya ass" She said

We all chuckled, and even though the joke we knew there was some seriousness behind her words. The boys each dapped him up and gave him hugs before walking out behind Mom which just left Kay and I sitting there across from each other.

I sighed looking down at my nails, "Ya nails more important than me?" He asked

I looked up from my lashes before picking my head up, and looking at him. "They're not interesting but they are cute don't you think?" I asked showing him

Kay chuckled, "This what we gon spend these little moments on?"

I shrugged, "I mean you won't let me get all cute and sit on the stand so I mean I guess I gotta get all cute and sit in the audience." I said chuckling

Kay nodded his head, "Damn right ion want nobody to bother you or I'll really go kuu" He said leaning back in his seat

"Alright Mr. Perez , you stay safe and no fighting you heard what Mom said" I told him pointing a finger at him

Kay chuckled, "Imma stay outta the mix I promise" He said

I smiled slightly, "It's time" A guard said walking into the room

I nodded my head, and turned back towards Kay. He stood up, as I did and we met in the middle of the opened area giving him one last hug I let out a breath I didn't know that I was holding. "I love you BabyGirl" He whispered

I nodded looking up at him, "I love you too KayKay"
