It was another same old day in the Mushroom Kingdom. The Birds were chirping, people talking as they walked along the streets, and a fellow Toad getting rid of a dead body from behind the castle. Meanwhile, in a small suburb area in Mushroom City, there lived Meggy, doing her morning chore's in her house. Although, she was in a very grumpy mood to patiently complete any of them. She had to pull an all nighter trying to shoo away an owl from the window, which was disturbing her from sleeping. She was able to shoo it away, that's until it came back with a full army of owls, which ended up not so pretty.
Meggy mumbled, and grumbled throughout the morning, Cleaning up her house, feeding her cat, and getting herself ready for the day. Once she half heartedly finished her morning chores, she went outside to collect her mail. Just before she walked down the path to the mailbox, she spotted one of her friends, Bob, who was oddly enough locking up his bed and breakfast hotel. Meggy was surprised that Bob locked up his hotel, but she didn't even bother asking why he was doing so.
She continued to walk down to her mailbox, collected the mail, and walked back to her house. But as soon as she was about to enter inside, Bob caught her by surprise. "oH, hElLo tHerE MegGy!" Greeted Bob, "I did nOt sEe YoU thEre!"
Meggy wasn't in the mood for socializing, but she sighed and talked with him anyways. "Hi Bob." She said in a sour manner, "What are you doing?"
"wElL, I'M juSt cLosiNg mY hOteL fOr juSt a cOupLe oF dAyS." He explained."I'M gOinG tO soMe pLacE fOr soMe extra cash money."
Meggy felt skeptical from his explanation. "But don't you have like enough money in your life? You're doing just fine with your hotel!"
"yEs, BuT bEtweEn yOu AnD mE..." Bob then looked around before he could say anything else. He then unexpectedly walked closer to Meggy, making her heart jump in fear.
"...iT's aLl aBoUt tHaT sWeeT cAsH mOneY liFe bABy, HAHAHAHAHA!" Wailed Bob from the top of his lungs.
Meggy just rolled her eyes. "Same old Bob." She thought.
"oH bOi lOoK aT tHe tiMe!" Exclaimed Bob, looking at his Mickey Mouse watch," I mUsT gEt gOinG!" he grabbed his luggage, and hurries towards a private limo that he somehow got. "gOoDbyE mEgGy." He said before he got on, and once he did got on, the limo screeched off to the distant into the tunnel, leaving without a trace.
Meggy rolled her eyes again, and returned back inside her house. Once she was inside, she then sat down on the kitchen chair and checked the letters she had received. "Let's see what new they have brought me." She dully said, and flip through the stack pile of mail, already knowing what they were.
"Bills, bills, bills, and even more bills..."
All Meggy was ever getting for the past month were just piles of bills that she haven't even paid for yet. Every flip of the mail just kept saying the same thing, bills. Bills ranging from House bills, water bills, medical bills, and Bill Nye the Scince Guy's house party. All the letters we're just the same, plain old thing. As Meggy threw them away, she then noticed one of the letter's that caught her attention. She picked up from the bin, and looked at it for a bit. It was a different kind of letter, that was colored in blue, with wavy yellow stripes on it, and it also had a sticker of a light house on the top right corner.
"Hm, whats this?" She said, curiously ripping open the letter. In it was 2 boat tickets, and along with a light blue letter as well. She placed the 2 tickets on the side, and read the letter that it came with. "Dear Meggy." she read, "It sure has been awhile hasn't it? I know we haven't talked for quite a while, so I have thoughtfully decided that we should have a reunion! And its just good timing too! In just about 12 days from now, my home land is going celebrate its 200, and 1 anniversary! I've send you 2 tickets to come to Port Aurora! One of the tickets are for you, and the other is for another one of your friends to bring along! It would be such a treat if you come here and enjoy the fireworks! I hope you decided to come! From your best-friend, and partner,
-Auri Bori."
"Hey, Auri!" Meggy said happily, "It's been a long time since I met him!"
She then looked at the hanged picture of her and Auri when she was at vacation Port Aurora couple years ago. "Stressful, but good times." She smiled.
As soon as she was about to put the letter back into the envelope, she then spotted a small side note on the back.
"P.S I am not sure how long this letter would take to get to your place since I'm writing this on the 31st, but I booked your trip on Monday the 5th, at 5:50pm. I Hope thats enough time for you to get ready!"
Meggy puts the letter down, and quickly looked at the calendar. She was in shocked that its already Monday the 5th! She then turned to her head to look at the clock and was in utter shock to see that its 11:15am!
"Holy crap!" She screamed, "I only have 6 hours till the boat arrives!"
Meggy was slowly panicking, but an Idea just popped into her head. "I know! I can start by packing my suitcase, and I'll already be ready till the boat arrives!" She thought to herself. She then also looked back at the 2 boat tickets sitting on the table, "Oh yeah, and maybe find someone to bring along with too..."
In an instant, Meggy started packing up all her things into her suitcase. she packed a camera, her outfits, a pass port, a towel, and most importantly 1 of the 2 boat tickets.
"That should be enough!" Meggy said happily, "All is to do now is to find someone to bring."
As Meggy was about to leave the house, she all of a sudden paused by the doorway. She was starting to to have a second thought. She thinks that she can either, bring a friend to Port Aurora, or she doesn't take anyone at all. It was a very hard decision to make since she doesn't know which one of her friends to take with, but it would be rude to just throw away an expensive boat ticket. "I can make this work." She thought, confidently.
Few minutes later, Meggy was now walking on the streets of Mushroom City, starting her search of who she'll bring to the trip to Port Aurora. "Hopefully no one is doing anything busy." She thought.
Her first stop was at Tari's house, which was not far from where she lives. "Lets see if she's free." She said to herself. So Meggy walked up to her door, and knocked on it. Soon enough, Tari opened the door.
"Oh! Hello Meggy!" She greeted cheerfully. "Heya Tari!" Said Meggy, joyfully. "I was wondering if you're busy at the moment."
"Um, no Meggy, Why?"
"Well you see, an old friend of mine got me 2 tickets to come join a anniversary at Port Aurora, and I was wondering if you'd like to come?"
Tari's heart then suddenly dropped. The last time she went to a trip was with Mario in Texas, which ended up terribly since instead of going to Texas, they ended up finding themselves in Ohio. "U-Uh." Stuttred Tari, "Sorry Meggy, I uh- I just remembered, I have a really busy schedule at uh, Mcdonalds!"
Meggy doubted at Tari's excuse. "But Tari, you don't work at Mcdonalds, In fact I have never even seen you work anywhere!"
"Oh yeah, silly me." Tari said, embarrassingly lying, "I forgot to tell you I uh, actually got a job! Um Sorry Meggy, but I got to go bye now!" Tari then slamed the door at Meggy's face.
Meggy was disappointed that Tari didn't wanted to come. "Well... maybe I should go ask Saiko instead."
Meggy took the bus to Saiko's apartment, which took 20 minutes to get there, putting the time at 12'o clock now. As soon she got to the apartments, she has to take the stairs to get all they way up to Saiko's door.
"Tartar sauce." She said, dreadfully, "Why must it be stairs!"
As soon she painfully made it up to Saiko's apartment door, she knocked on the door gently, but there was no answer. She knocked on the door a little harder this time, yet still no answer. She knocked the door very loudly, which caught the attention of Saiko's neighbors.
"Hey!" Yelled one of Saiko's neighbor, "Will you shut up! People are trying to sleep!"
Meggy's temper was fuming with anger by them, and was about to throw a fit against them!
That was until Saiko finally opened the door, making her stop completely. For whatever the reason, Saiko looked rather drowsy, uninterested on whats going on. "Oh, hey Saiko!" Said Meggy cheerfully, pretending that she wasn't about to kill a person. "Meggy, its 12 o'clock in the morning!" Saiko said in a grouchy mood, "What's it you need?"
"Well you see Saiko- I"
"Hard pass." Saiko Interrupted.
"But you didn't heard what I have to say." Meggy said, with an upset tone.
"Yeah well, I don't have time for another one of these misadventures again, I have drums that needs to be played!"
There was a long pause between the two, with Meggy getting noticeably sad. "I'm Sorry, Meggy." Saiko apologetically said, "I just need to take a break from everything right now."
"Oh, well... that's understandable..." Meggy understandingly said.
"So...goodbye!" Saiko then slam the door closed on Meggy's face.
"Damn it!" Meggy said in defeat. "Guess finding someone to come is way harder than I thought." And she was right.
Hours have passed, and yet she still haven't found anyone to bring at all. All of her friends have excuses on not coming to go with her to Port Aurora. Luigi was busy with his flower shop, Smg4 was busy making memes, Shroomy was doing whatever the hell he's doing, and Melony is... Well sleeping on top of some random bushes.
Meggy was now all out of luck, she had never felt defeated which seemed like forever. She'd then walked away from the bushes, and sat on a picnic table that was near her. "I don't know what to do anymore." She depressingly said.
She was just about to giving up and throw away the extra boat ticket, Until she heard a familiar screaming.
"LEEEROOOOY! JENKINS!"
Meggy knows whose yelling that was from. It was her stupid, best-friend, Mario. He was swimming around in his huge plate of spaghetti, like he always does. "Now this is the lifes'a!" He said, in a relaxed tone.
Meggy sighed deeply, "Well." Meggy thought to herself, as she got up from the picnic table, "There's really not much of a choice now." And so, she walked towards Mario as he was still swimming inside his huge bowl of spaghetti, having the time of his life. "Hey, red." She said, hesitantly. "Hm?" Grunted Mario, he then stopped swimming in the Spaghetti and looked down. "Oh, Hey Meggy!" Greeted the plumber, he then jumped out from the spaghetti, and landed right in front of Meggy.
"What can the Mario do for you today?" He asked.
Meggy was very hesitant to ask him, but she sighed and said it to him straight forward, "I was wondering... If you'd like to come to Port Aurora with me."
There was a long silence. The two were just staring at each other, awkwardly. Meggy was getting unnaturally anxious, as she stared into Mario's derpy eyes, waiting for his response. Unexpectedly, Mario ripped both of his left and right sleeves off, and yelled out in excitement, "HEEERE WEEE GAAAAAOH!" He yelled
Meggy was in total shock from his reaction.
"Is that a yes?" She Asked.
"Hell yeah!" Said Mario, "I'ma tired of saving the Peach from that over weight turtle every week." He explained, "And Mario could sense that this is an adventure worth while!"
Meggy felt happily relief that she finally found someone to bring with her to Port Aurora, except, she wasn't as excited as she initially thought. She all of a sudden had this sort of feeling that maybe bringing Mario along for the trip was a bad idea. But she shrugged it off, as long Mario is happy to come with her with to Port Aurora, then she is happy too.
"Heh, okay Red." She said, "Get your suitcase ready, because were leaving in a few... Hours?"
As by magic, Mario disappeared in thin air.
"Mario?" She called, "Where did you go?"
She then looked to her right and saw Mario running all the way back to his home. "Hey Red! wait up!" She yelled.
After a few minutes of running, Mario got home, broke the door down, speed passed the living room and got to the bedroom, and stuffed his things into his suitcase. "Hey Mario!" Greeted his younger brother Luigi, "you seemed excited today."
"Yup!" Excitingly said Mario, "Meggy invited a'me to this place called Port Aurora with her!"
"Wows, that sounds like'a fun Mario. But whos'a gonna save the princess."
"Ay forget about her."
Mario then slam his suitcase closed, "You and the Toad's could save her while I'ma gone." He said.
"...Not a bad idea bro." Luigi mischievously said, with a smirk on his face.
Just then, Meggy showed up, tired as ever from catching up to Mario.
"Hello Meggy!" Happily said Luigi.
"Sup Weege." Said Meggy as she tried to catch her breath.
"I see you'a decided to bring Mario for the trip." Luigi said again.
"Yeah, I didn't wanted to waste that extra boat ticket."
As soon Meggy was able to breathe properly again, she came inside and sat on the brother's couch. Mario got out of his room with his suitcase ready.
"Say'a Meggy." Asked Mario, "Whats'a the time we are leaving again?"
"Oh! Well, we'll have to wait for a couple of hours to pass for the boat to arrive." She said.
Meggy then looked at the time and it was at 4:30pm. The boat doesn't arrive until 5:50.
"Any ideas to pass the time?" She asked. Mario pondered, and pondered. Walking back and forth, banging his head against the wall, and calculating his numbers.
"Mario has'a no idea." He said.
Out of the nowhere, Steve crashed in the brothers house, unannounced.
"Hi guys!" Steve greeted, happily.
"Hi Steve..." Everybody said without enthusiasm.
"What'a brought you here a'this time Steve?" Asked Mario.
Steve then floated suspiciously towards Mario, which made him creep out in fear, almost crapping his pants.
"My boy." Said Steve, placing his hand on Mario's shoulder.
Everything was all of a sudden getting dark, everything was becoming anonymously chilling. Then all of a sudden, Steve took something out from his pocket. Everyone was in shock on what it is. Luigi's mouth has dropped to the floor, Meggy's eyes were glittering, and even Mario's mind was mind blown by it. It was non other than a red Minecraft bed.
"Its not safe out there." Finally said Steve, "You'll need this."
He then threw it at Mario's face, which stabbed him right in the eye. Then without saying a word, Steve turned into a helicopter, and flew away, breaking the roof while at it.
"I just shit my pants." Said Mario.
"But its a Bed" Meggy protested, "A BED!"
"Yeah, there'sa nothing so special about it." Agreed Luigi, "What good is'a use for besides sleeping on it!"
"Mario has no idea, but that was so...Inspirational!" Said Mario in aw.
"Seriously?" Said Meggy, "Never mind." She said, changing the subject, "Lets go Mario, I think we should wait at the docks till the boat arrives."
"Lets'a Go!" Mario wailed in excitement, As they exited out the house.
An hour later They were at the dockside, Everyone was here to say Goodbye to Meggy's and Mario's trip to Port Aurora.
"Have fun guys!" Tari happily said.
"Yeah, your gonna need it." Added Saiko.
"Make sure you get Mario out of trouble!" Yelled out Smg4.
"Were gonna miss you guys!" Cried Melony.
"Thanks guys!" Meggy said happily.
"And we'll make sure to have the best time of our lives!" Mario excitedly said.
"Yup that too." Laughed Meggy.
The boat rang its bell, and everyone hugged each other one more time before Mario and Meggy got on the boat.
"We'll miss you guys." Sniffed Meggy.
Then Mario, and Meggy got on the boat, and waved goodbye to their friends.
"Ready for this Mario?" Asked Meggy.
"You bet I am!" Mario responded excitedly.
The two then turned around and gazed at the sunset as the boat leaves Mushroom Kingdom, and arriving too Port Aurora...
