Chapter 5: Objection!

    Later that same day, Mario was locked up inside of the old cell in Auri's home for 2 hours now. The cell looked like it has never been cleaned in forever, it still had the old, crooked floorboard, and no bed to sleep on either. It was like the cell was built for an animal!
The new eerie mayor, and also a judge, Sinis ordered a court session for Mario, which was to be held in the courthouse in 15 minutes. Auri and Meggy were outside of the house, talking to each other about the situation.
"That's stupid!" Furiously said Meggy, "Mario only been on this island for just a few hours, and he's never done anything remotely bad!"
Auri tried to calm her down, "Its not like that Meggy!" He said, "I know Mario didn't do anything, but maybe Judge Sinis mistaken him for someone else. Just because he suspected Mario to be the one, doesn't actually mean he did it!"
Meggy just groaned in annoyance.
"I promise, Meggy, thing's won't get worse from here." Auri added, "I'm sure the judge will come to his sense's."
Meggy just sighed, She then looked at Mario, whose sitting in place in his cell, looking at the wall.
Meggy then sighed once more, "Let me just get myself ready..." She said.
15 minutes has passed, and it was time for Mario's court session to begin. Auri guided Mario to the entrance, and placed him in front of the suspect stand.
Meggy came in after them, she was wearing her lawyer outfit, which she coincidentally brought with her for the occasion. She sat down on the defendant side of the table, taking out all the evidence and supplies needed for this case. 
The rest of the citizens were gathered on the opposite side of the room, They were all whispering at each other unnecessarily loud, waiting for the judge to arrive.
"Hopefully nothing goes wrong." Meggy said to herself, adjusting her glasses and sitting straight up, professionally.
Just then, the front doors of the court house slammed wide open, alerting everyone in the room. It was Judge Sinis, carrying his cane as well as a file report with him.
"Court is now in session!" He said, slowly walking to the front of the honor's stand.
He was completely silent the whole way through to get to the honors stand, giving everyone the cold shoulders.
 As soon as he finally got up, he then adjusted himself, pull out the file report, and started talking.
"As you all have been aware," He started, "There has all of a sudden been a recent crime rate here at Port Aurora. This new criminal like mafia group has been terrorizing our town in every way possible, they have caused nothing but a ton of mischief for the pass couple of weeks by, robbing our valuables, making a mess, and mass destruction! This one in particular is no different! The suspect here, Mario is accused of creating the giant Ink like goop monster, also known as Ink bigerra-"
"OBJECTION!" Interrupted the enraged, Meggy.
"Over ruled! And don't interrupt when I talk!" Yelled back Judge Sinis, "As I was saying, the suspect here, Mario, is responsible for the creation of Ink bigerra. The beast has not only cause destruction of our home, but also polluted almost half of our island with it's sticky ink like goop! And the proof that Mario actually did it? Allow me to introduce our top of the class citizen, Bornya G. Austin." 
"Thank you judge." Said an Aura Bora wearing a suit, coming out from the opposite side of the room, he then walked up to the front right towards Mario.
"So Mario, Is it true, that you were responsible of this mess?" He asked him.
"Oh hell no!" Mario responded, "Mario just got here hours ago!" 
"Oh did you now?" He then took out pictures from his suitcase, and spread them right in front of Mario's table!
"According to these pictures taken, it shows every spotting we have taken! They're identified with overalls, a cap, and an overly large mustache! And no one around here even wears overalls n'or have a large mustache, all except you!"
Mario was caught off guard, all the pictures that was shown to him look very identical to him, but it was all shadowy, and hard to make out. What all the pictures have in common however, it's the shadowed Mario in the picture is accompanied by what seem to be, a big brush that's almost similar to a staff.
"Ay, hes'a looking pretty good." Mario said, admiring about himself.
"Yeah." Responded Bornya, "Pretty good looking to end up in jail, CRIMINAL!" 
"Hey! leave him alone!" Screamed Meggy.
"SILENCE!" Then yelled Judge Sinis.
"Your honor, you got to believe me!" Meggy Desperately Said, "Mario has been on this island for only a few hours, and if those pictures are actually him, he could've have just done something bad right now!" 
Judge Sinis then thought about for a moment.
"Well, you do have a point." He said, still reconsidering his assumption.
"Hey, I'ma hungry" Said Mario, and pulled out a Milky Way bar from his pockets, ripped it open, and dropped the wrapper on the floor!
Everyone from the opposite side of the room gasped on the sight of what he had done.
"You see your honor!" Yelled Bornya, triumphantly, "Guilty I tell you! GUILTY!"
Everyone started to over talk to each other by the whispers, Meggy was extremely pissed at Mario for what he did, he just ruined the whole case!
"Order in the court!" Yelled the fuming judge, "Order in the court!" He said again, "I have finally come to a conclusion."
Everyone was shut silent, ready for the conclusion of the allegations. 
"I hereby declare, the suspect, Mario..."
Meggy was sweating, crossing her fingers and pray for the results.
"I declare the suspect, Mario... Guilty!"
"WHAT! Are you SERIOUS!" She yelled.
"The evidence is all there," Said Judge Sinis, "It's no secret that Mario is part of this criminal organization, he has caused the many mass destruction and pollution to our home with it's monster!" He ragingly added.
"B-But, but."  
"No Butt's! Mario is charged with 3500,000  tullies for the mass destruction, and pollution of our home, and will be imprisoned for 3 months!"
He then whacked his wooden hammer on the gavel, "This Court session is over!"
Everyone got up and left the room, all except Meggy who still sat on the table. She looked at Mario with despair, he also knew what trouble he had caught himself into.
"Come on Mario..." Calmly yet regretfully said Auri, "Lets take you back to your cell." 
Meggy watched as Auri takes Mario back to the cell in his house with sorrow, unsure of what's to come next.
Later that night, Meggy and Auri were talking outside again, as Mario just sat inside the old cell in the house.
"Auri, you have to believe me!" Cried Meggy, "You know Mario didn't cause all this!" 
"I know Meggy," Sadly said Auri. "But rules are rules, Mario has to stay here for 3 months then he'll be able to be let out again."
"There's got to be another way to get him out early or something!"
"Well..." Auri then paused in realization for a moment, "I think there is."
"What?" asked Meggy.
"I guess he can do some community service to take out a few days from his sentence." He said, "Plus, if we use that time wisely, we can find out whose really behind this before the anniversary! We can show those baddy's to Judge Sinis, and he'll let Mario be out scotch free! And everything would be okie dokie again!" Auri was really glad of himself that he came up with the idea.
Meggy just sighed, "Thats good enough...I guess." She said, depressingly.
Meanwhile, Mario was sitting down on the floor in his cell, just staring out the window. FLUDD was sittng right next beside him.
"Looks like were in another predicament again, Mario." Said Fludd.
"Ah shadup." Mario said back.
Mario got himself up, and started to unpack his suitcase that he was luckily able to bring inside of his cell. He started to decorate the interior of the cell so it would feel just like home, he hanged up a picture frame of him and his brother Luigi, a refrigerator to store his Spaghetti, and some of his other pairs clothing that he put's on top of the refrigerator.
He then took out the Minecraft bed that Steve gave him out of his pocket and placed it against the wall, which then transform into an actual bed. 
"Im'a tired..." He Yawned, and so laid on his Minecraft bed.
His eye's slowly blinked to a closed, getting ready to sleep.
