Chapter 19: Lets'a go!

    This, was it, the final day till the official 201 anniversary of Port Aurora and 24 hours left till Mario's execution tonight. The trio's woke up not bright, but early getting themselves ready to find this villain hideout. Meggy was quick tie up her brown boots, and put on her beanie hat with googles and headphones. Auri adjusted his sheriff badge, and his pink, dead octopus hat. And Mario... Is just Mario, but he did let F.L.U.D.D out from the closet, and buckle on to him.
"Are we ready?" Ask Auri with a confidence tone on his voice.
Both Mario and Meggy positively nodded their heads.
"Well lets go!" 
The trio stormed out from Auri's house, and walked down the streets of Port Aurora like the bad ass group as they are. Unfortunately they actually don't know where the hell they're going, they haven't thought of this plan through but what they do know for sure, this so call hideout is within the mountains somewhere. However The only mountains around Port Aurora was itself, literally everything was built upon a mountain, the houses, the stores, the road, and the lighthouse itself. Although that's how Mario and Meggy see's it, but only Auri and the rest of the town residents could see what meets the eye.
"That yellow alien said it was somewhere around the mountains," Auri said to them, "I might have an Idea of what they mean." 
So they let Auri take the lead! They kept walking down the streets till they saw a staircase that was built into the mountain, and it lead to the lighthouse. It was a very long and steep walk to get up there, it has no handrails, n'or safety, and Mario, already getting tired of a 30 yard walk, whined like a baby for a solid 15 seconds. Without any other choice, they walked up the steep mountain stairs, being extremely careful as not to fall off from it. Without a doubt, it wasn't easy getting to the top, the summer heat was making them sweat very much, getting tired like a sloth finally getting their food after 8 hours of reaching for it. The walk was so bad that Mario made FLUDD carry him for the rest of the trip up, he nearly ended up breaking the handles and the water case due to his fat ass! Meggy could literally not feel her kness, felling like she had noodle like legs that are on the verge of collapsing. Auri, very much tired and sweating to much, wasn't giving up, he just stormed through with the pain, almost fainted at one point.
More than 2 hours later they finally got over the mountain, and were near the lighthouse. Sadly nothing suspicious was up about it besides a tombstone with something yellow sticking out from the ground. Auri continued to lead the way right into the forest, which luckily had a path that lead to somewhere.
"Their hideout is probably behind the mountain, I am sure of it!" Said Auri with confidence.
They walked down the path in forest, and it was getting deep... Deep... And deep. It was slowly getting dark as they came across more tress covering up the sun with their leafs and trunks. The path started to become cramped and narrow, until they suddenly stopped.
"Whats the matter Auri?" Asked a confused Meggy.
"Something... Something's not right." He said.
Right in front of them were two split paths, both of them looking different in appearance. One path looks like it's been used with lots of footprints on it, but the other look's out of place, clearly has a different shape than they're on now.
"There were never two paths before... There was only just one."
"Maybe that's where their hideout is... Pretty stupid of them actually, seriously, who in their right mind just makes a secret hideout just for it to have an exposed path."
"Well whoever it is, we're just gonna have to carefully-"
"RACE TO IT!" Yelled Mario, and speed through the shady path!
"MARIO WAIT!" Yelled Meggy, and ran of chasing him.
Auri sighed in disbelief, and followed behind them. Every step it was getting darker and darker. It felt like they stumble onto a different side of the island, a side that not even Auri remember's being here. The heat was getting hotter and hotter, the tree's color's were changing from green to a darkish red type of color, and the path was shrinking slowly, nearly becoming non existent. Meggy finally caught up to Mario, who was seemingly stopped at a dead end.
"Mario!" Angrily shouted Meggy, "What were you even thinking, you could've gotten yourself... lost." Soon enough, they noticed that they are indeed, lost. Auri finally caught up, and was short out of breath.
"According to my calculations. I think we are lost." Said F.L.U.D.D. "Yeah thanks for reminding us captain obvious." Sarcastically said Meggy. 
Out of nowhere, something sharp came out from the ground! It started to circle around them, acting like gates preventing them from escaping! Mario tried to pull the spiked gates down, but it was very resistant from his hard pulls no matter what he tried. Out of nowhere, the ground started shaking! They heard a rusty metal door opening from somewhere, till they realized that the ground was the one opening, answering why everything started to shake! The trio hanged onto the spike gates for dear life as the ground door was opening very wide. Once the door was fully opened, they saw a endless pit, that leads to their doomed. They were all hanging for their dear lives!
"Does anyone have some last words till we get sent to sleep forever?" Sobbed Auri.
"Mhm." Cried Mario, "I AM SORRY FOR EVERY BAD THING I'VE EVER DONE!"
"I'M SORRY FOR BEING A BAD FRIEND THAT I AM!" Also cried Meggy.
"AND I'M SORRY FOR NOT BEING HONEST AND NOT GIVING WHISK THE MONEY SHE NEEDED FOR HER COLLEGE TUITION AND WASTED IT ON A BIGGER JAIL HOUSE SO I COULD CARRY MORE PRISONERS AND HAVE AN EASY LIFE BUT I DON'T!" Lastly cried Auri.
"I'M SORRY YOUR APOLOGY IS SO LONG!" Added Mario. 
Dangling down like hang mans, There was no chance for them for survival now, all they could ever do is tightly grab the spiked gates.
"I don't think I can hold on for much longer!" Grunted Meggy. The sweat that was coming out from their hands caused the spike gates to be slippery, and it made Auri fall into the pit first! "AURI!" Cried Meggy.
 Auri's screams became nothing but an echo as he falls deeper into the bottomless pit. Suddenly Mario's finger's slipped, making him lose his grip and falls to the pit too!
"MAMA!" He screamed, and he continued to scream into the bottomless pit till it was nothing but an echo.
"MARIO, NO!" Cried again Meggy,  Now she was the only one hanging for dear life.
 Her hands started to become cramp, losing her grip to hold on. And then, she fell in. She screamed as she fell into the endless pit, unable to escape her death! There was nothing she could do, all she could ever do is scream and fall, scream and fall all the way to her inevitable death.
