Chapter 24

Sa rami ng iniisip ko, hindi ko na alam ang uunahin. I have problems in my business. Problems with my employees. Tapos dumagdag pa si Wolf. I can't believe this!

Wolf was gone missing from my eyes since I asked him to. And now I am missing him terribly. Wala rin naman akong oras para maghanap dahil sa sobrang stressed sa trabaho at negosyo ko.

Good thing is, we were able to figure out who the spy is. I was terrified because the very person I couldn't think of being a spy, was the person who actually was a spy. It pained me thinking that I was betrayed by someone I had fully trusted on.

"Hindi ko maintindihan, Berta! Bakit?" I almost stammered.

She couldn't look at me in the eye. Her eyes were full of guilt and remorse. Pero wala na akong maramdaman kung hindi dismaya at lungkot.

"S-Sorry, Ma'am."

I shook my head. Yeah, we won the case. And we counter-attacked the company who's imitating our designs. We sued them instead. And they're guilty beyond reasonable doubt.

But I couldn't feel the victory knowing that I got betrayed by my own employee, my own secretary! That I lent my full trust on! I couldn't believe it!

"Bakit mo iyon ginawa?!" si Mr. Padilla.

Berta looked at me, pleading. "Sorry po talaga, Ma'am. Malaki po kasi ang perang ibinigay nila. I'm sorry, Ma'am! Sorry-"

"Gaga ka ba?! Dahil lang sa pera?"

"Mr. Padilla!" asik ko. Hinarap ko si Berta. "Temporary money over your loyalty to me and our business?"

Parang kinusot-kusot ang puso ko. I can't believe how money can easily twist a person's loyalty. And the last person I think could betray me is the one who actually did! Because of money. Does the world really revolve around money in today's human beings? It sucks!

Ayaw kong gawin pero kailangan. We get Berta a place she deserves. Five years of imprisonment but she will be given a parole. Sana lang magbago siya at magsisi sa nangyari.

After what happened, I became fierce with my employees. I don't want that mistake to happen again. I found another secretary, my classmate before. He's actually good kaya kinuha ko. Pero ngayon, imbes na ibigay sa sekretarya ang mga design ay ako mismo ang pupunta sa makinarya at mag-i-instruct sa gagawin. I've learned my lesson.

Never again.

"Ahh!!! Ang presko ng hangin dito, Aya! You're right for choosing this place!" tili ni Peter habang dinadama ang preskong hangin na dumadampi sa kanyang mukha.

"What is the name of  this place again?" Sandy asked.

"Catigbian." I simply answered.

I gave myself a week day vacation after those exhausting months I encountered. I let my secretary rule my business for a week. Wala pa naman akong bagong designs na na-i-sketch kaya maayos lang na sa kanya ko muna ipapamahala ang negosyo.

I roamed my sight around and couldn't help but feel at awe. Catigbian has changed!!! I saw a lot of factories there. Guminhawa na rin ang pamumuhay ng mga tao sa makabagong teknolohiya. And of course, I know who still rules this place. The Montreals.
