~You're a gem in a world full of rocks~
Evangeline's PoV
I carefully walked around the cabin, every so often glancing at the door and the window, listening carefully for any new sounds. Since my father had left, he hadn't returned.Men were stood outside guarding the cabin. For what I could tell, there was at least one on every side of the house but two near the door. If we broke a window, they'd for sure hear and come running. We can't open the door because he locked it. So we're stuck.
"Come back here," my mom spoke. "If he comes and sees you stood over there...," she trailed off not wanting to say out loud what he'd do. I let out a sigh and walked over to her before sitting down.
"It's been at least two days, right?," I asked my mom. She nodded her head.
"Seems so."
"Tobias will save us," I spoke. She gave me a small smile almost as if she didn't believe me. I know he's coming because he cares for me. There's something between us. I know it and he knows it but we've just brushed it under the carpet.
But I swear if I get out of here alive, I'm not gonna brush it under the carpet anymore. I won't be able to.
"How long can people survive without food?," I asked her.
"A week, maybe more," she answered.
"Mom, you've been here longer than me. And there's no food and water," I spoke, realising that if we don't get any food soon, she'll be dying.
"It'll be fine."

I stared at my gun, my finger resting on the trigger, itching to press it down. It's been two fucking days and only now we managed to find that stupid fucking car. We pulled up onto a familiar looking street. It took me a moment before I came to the realisation. "Her father took her," I spoke."How do you know?," Eros asked me, knowing we've only managed to find the car through other cameras around the city.
"This street. We came to get her. Remember?"
"Shit," Eros said slowly as the car began to slow down. Suddenly, her dad came out of the house and put a huge duffel bag in the trunk of a car before jumping into the drivers seat.
"Follow the fucker," I demanded.
"Shouldn't we at least check out the house?," Aidan asked.
"He knows we know where he lives. He'd be stupid to keep her there."
Keeping a safe distance from him, we followed him for over an hour to a secluded area. We stopped the car and decided to go on foot. Since it's secluded, there won't be cars here or any other people.
Crouching down, we slowly made our way into the forest, keeping a close eye on the jackass. Suddenly a small cabin came into view.
We fucking found her.
Dumb fuck couldn't even kidnap her properly. If he did it properly, we wouldn't have found her.
My eyes scanned the perimeter. There were two men guarding the door and only one man guarding each side of the cabin.
The cabin looked old and unsteady like it was gonna collapse any minute. We paused and waited for a while. We watched as he entered the cabin. He stayed that way for a while.
Giving the signal to put a silencer on the guns, everyone did so without fail before we all got into position and aimed for one of his little minions. Without any hesitation, the bodies all slammed to the ground simultaneously.
I took a deep breath before we all began moving closer and closer to the cabin.

"I'm back," my father spoke gruffly as he sniffed loudly. He said that like we care if he comes back or not. I shrunk back against the wall, thinking back to all those times he hurt us.He turned his back to us as he laid out things on a table. What he's laying out clearly isn't very nice. I panicked as I looked around, catching glimpses of different knives and weapons.
He's gonna torture us.
Without a word, he quickly turned and grabbed me by my upper arm, squeezing it tightly before raising his hand and slapping me across the face. My head snapped to the side, the familiar feeling of this coming back to me.
I didn't miss this.
I can't fight back.
I'm so weak.
He's gonna kill us and I can't fight back.
What do I have to lose? Absolutely nothing.
Not giving it another thought, I threw my head back before throwing it towards his with full force. He stumbled back slightly, not expecting it. My head suddenly began to throb.
Adrenaline pulsing through my veins, I managed to turn and run to the door, knowing full well I didn't watch him lock it. My mother suddenly let out a piercing scream as she attempted to follow behind me.
My head snapped back. I watched as her leg fall limp as she attempted to stand upright. He broke her leg.
Now knowing only one of us would be able to make it out, I stopped. I can't leave my mom behind. I'd never forgive myself.
Abruptly falling into a fit of rage, he pushed my mother to the side, making her hit the floor with her broken leg twisting in all angles. "I'M SORRY! I'M SORRY! I'M SORRY!," I screamed out again and again, knowing that whatever's about to happen will be much much worse than anything before.
He grabbed my hair, twisting it around his fist before he forced my head against the wall. He pulled me back allowing me to feel the blood dripping from head drip down to the side of my face before slamming my head against the same spot again.
Without a warning, he dropped my hair making my body slump to the ground. My eyes rolled to the back of my head as all I could see were stars dancing in front of me.
A sharp slicing pain made me let out an ear shattering scream that no doubt could be heard from miles away. I forced my heavy eyes to open only to see the handle of a knife sticking out of me. My T-shirt was now soaked in my blood.
Just as my eyes were about to close once again, the door was kicked open. Men in bullet proof vests holding guns entered.
Before I knew it, he grabbed my mother holding her in front of him as a shield. He waited a moment analysing his surroundings before he pulled out a switchblade from his pocket. "No!," I gasped out. Without another word, he slid the blade against my mothers neck before dropping her body on the ground.
She didn't move.
"Mom?," I spoke my voice shaking. She never replied. She didn't move.
She's dead.
All of a sudden, it seemed like everything happening was distorted and happening in slow motion. I didn't even hear or see the bullets go through my father. The only thing I saw was his body hitting the floor with his lifeless eyes looking straight at me.
Familiar faces were above me. They were saying words but I couldn't hear any of it. Suddenly, Tobias pushed his way into my eye-line, his lips moving. The only things I could hear was the sound of my laboured breathing and my heartbeat.
He came too late.
