Chapter 22: Dinner

PB's P.O.V

After minutes, I got to the Candy Kingdom. I got off my swan then I was greeted by Peppermint Butler.
"Now tell me what the plans are." I said as we walked inside the palace.

"I have rescheduled and informed your friends that your monthly dinner will be tomorrow night." He said to me, flipping through his board.

Oh shoot, I forgot about that. You see, every two months, Jake, Finn, Lady, BMO, Marceline and I have dinner together.

It's a bonding thing we do. I'll admit, I miss hanging out with all of them. I hope Finn, Marceline and I won't be totes awkward.

I shook out of my thoughts.
"Thank you. Now, can you please prepare for the dinner tomorrow? I'll be in my room all day tomorrow...working out some stuff. Alright?" I ordered.

"Yes Princess. I had informed everyone that the dinner will start at seven." He said to me before going out. I entered my room. I went to my closet, trying to find the perfect clothes.

I chose the sleeveless white top with buttons, a flowy pastel blue dress with polka dots that reached half my thighs, then I added a brown belt and boots, and a pastel blue bow similar to the skirt. I set the outfit on a mannequin. I washed up then went to sleep.

Finn's P.O.V

"Good afternoon, sunshine." Marceline said to me as I opened my eyes. Our faces just inches apart. I had spent a week with her already and I started developing feelings for her. She controls me. I blush.

"Good afternoon, moonlight." I said with a smile. I saw a tinge of pink on her pale blue cheeks. We made up these nicknames for each other last night.

*short flash back of last night*

Marceline and I lay on the ground, stargazing, tired because of the wild dawn party we had.
"Finn? I want to tell you something." She said. I stared at her beautiful face.
"Mhm?"

"Well, I sorta have this thing for you. Ever since we met, I knew you were the kind of guy I wanna be with. I just hid my feelings. Noticed how I used to tease you all the time? That's just how I show my affection. Heh. " she confessed, blushing.

I was starstruck. I get how she flirts around with me and all but..I don't get how I feel. There's something in her that Bubblegum doesn't have.
"Hello?" She waved her hand in my face. Green flashed again.

"Oh yeah. Um Marceline, I kinda like you too..." I said, my cheeks turning crimson. She laughed at me.

I noticed the sun rising, so I quickly wrapped her in my jacket then put on her hat.
"You're my sunshine, Finn. You make things better." She said, inches apart from my face.
"You're my moonlight." I said. We laughed at each other's faces.
"So cheesy dude." She smiled.

*end*

"I'll make brunch." Marceline got up then went down. I checked my phone. It's three PM. I checked my notifications. Missed calls from PB. Meh. I saw a text from Jake.
It read:

"hey bro! :D ready for tonight? Our dinner with Prubs! I hope you two aren't awkward.."

I laughed then replied:
"i'm stoked. but like..eating dinner with her? pfft awkwardness overload! :p" I turned my phone off then I went downstairs.

Marceline had been in her fifteen year old form last night, but today, she's her old self. Mostly she's in her old self.

I silently walked downstairs. I saw her putting the food on the plates. Ooh, strawberry pancakes. The strawberries were gray, probrably because she drank the red. I laughed.

We ate then we went back upstairs, by then its already 4.
"What are you gonna wear?" I ask her.

"Hmm...maybe...this outfit?" She asked, showing me a red tank top, high waisted jeans and redboots. I gave her a thumbs up. She smiled.

"You shower first, as always." I always let her go first, well duh she's the lady. After about 30 minutes she's done.

She's gorgeous. I see that she had done her usual rouge make up but there's something different...something...beautiful. She laughed at me.

"Quit staring dude!" She said with a smile. I blushed then ran to the bathroom.
