Chapter 42: Finale

*2 weeks later*

Ice King's P.O.V

"What? Really?" I asked in disbelief. I can't believe I'm invited to the dinner!
"Yes Ice King. I'm happy too. Be ready at 6." Pepermint Butler replied. I smiled.
"Alright. Bye Pep But!" I ended the call.

"Gunther! I'm invited to the dinner!" I cheerfully said to Gunther.
"Wenk!" He said. I twirled around in the room.

"Wait what time is it?" I checked the time. It's five PM. I ran to the bathroom then I took a bath. I dried off then I put on my blue robe.

"Gunther, I'll be home at nine or eight. Okay? Bye." I waved goodbye to Gunther as I flew off. I see Finn and Jake with BMO running to the Candy Kingdom.

I quickly flew to them.
"Want a lift?" I ask them.
"You're coming?" Finn asked.
"Yeah!" I smile.

"Yeahoo! Let's go!" Jake said. Jake carried Finn and stretched his way to the Candy Kingdom while I held BMO then flew there.

"What a surprise!" Marceline greeted us. She hugged me tight.
"I missed you Simon." She whispered
"I missed you too, Marcy." I pulled away.
"Hi guys!" Marceline group hugged the three.

"Hello Mar!" Finn says.
"Ready for the dinner?" Jake asks.
"Yeah!" We all say. We walked to the entrance of the castle. We see two banana guards.

"Hello guys! The Princess is waiting for you at the balcony. Have a great dinner." They both said, letting us in. I smile, excited for the first ever dinner I'm having with my friends.

Princess Bubblegum's P.O.V

Here I am, sitting in my chair, waiting for my wonderful friends I treat like my family. I felt the cold wind on my freshly dyed hair that changes color depending on my mood. Its light blue at the moment. I stare at the door, the amount of anticipation filling me.

Finally, I hear the door open.
"Princess, they are here." I see Peppermint Butler, dressed in a mint colored suit.
"Bring 'em in!" I joyfully replied.

He opened the door then I see Ice King in his usual robe only neater, Marceline in a long burgundy dress that touched the ground, Lady with her beautifully braided hair, Jake with a black bow tie, and BMO with a bowtie as well. They all smiled at me. I smile back, admiring all of them.

"Hi Bonnie." Marceline and I hugged.
"Hey Marcy." I replied.
"Hello everyone!" I group hugged everyone, including Peppermint Butler, my loyal friend.
"Where's Finn?" I ask them.

The door suddenly opened, I see my hero, Finn. He's not wearing his hat, he's in a white tux, holding beautiful white, red and gray-ish roses in a bouquet. The other guys pushed me to stand up. I smile at Finn, he's looking at me from head to toe.

"Hello Princess. You look beautiful, like always." He says, handing me the bouquet.
"Thank you Finn." I reply as my hair glowed rose. I put the bouquet in an empty vase that was conveniently on the floor.

I hug him before we sat down at the dinner table. Pep But sits between Finn and Marceline. Across Pep But is Jake, across Finn is Lady and across Marceline is the Ice King. I sat in the middle end of the table next to Fimm and Lady.

"Welcome everyone to this special dinner. I'm glad to say that Ice King and Peppermint Butler, are now one of our closest friends." I say, staring at the candle in front of me.

Everyone cheered.
"Now, let's eat, shall we?" Peppermint Butler started to stand. He walks to a wheeled tray then he walks to us, handing out plates of baked salmon and mashed potatoes at the side. Then he fills our glasses with sparkling water.

"Let us all eat!" I say. We eat in silence, as always, occasionally chatting about memories we all had, talking about adventures. After what seemed like and hour, we were done and one of my banana guards volunteered to clean up.

Finn picks up his glass of sparkling. I notice we haven't drunk them yet.
"I'm going to propose a toast. To Jake, Ice King, Marceline, Peppermint, BMO, Lady and Princess Bubblegum." He says.
"Cheers!" We clink our glasses together then we drank.

"Let's walk to the rooftops. We have something for you." Ice King says, putting a blindfold on me.
"I'll lead you." Finn says. I laugh then I took a grip on his arm. We walk upstairs, him constantly whispering things into my ear like "you're gonna love it."

I felt hands on my shouders, I'm being carried by Marceline. She drops me gently on a chair. I'm so excited. I hear whispers.
"Take it off." Lady said.

I bit my lip then I pulled the blindfold off, to see a pile of lanterns away from me. Then hundreds of beautiful lanterns floating in the sky, to reveal Finn at the back.

He walks to me, a pink box with a white bow in his hands.
"What's going on?" I ask him in confusion, but a smile stuck on my face. Suddenly, I see a curtain fell to see all of my friends, looking like they have something planned. They had a smile on their faces.

"Princess, you mean the world to me. I know that I- that we used to be complicated as algebra but now, things have changed. And it's a great change. Because I saw your true feelings about me." He pauses for a minute before he gets on one knee.

"Just say it already!" Jake says. I almost teared up, covering my mouth with my hands.
"Will you be my girlfriend?" He opened the box. I see a beautiful silver chain necklace. It looks delicate and elegant. The chain was thin and the pendant was a small diamond circle.

"Yes. Yes I will be your girlfriend, Finn!" I jumped in his arms, nearly crushing his bones but he managed to stand me up. I see my friends in tears as fireworks flew. The colors of red, orange, blue, light blue, green, pink and white covered the sky.

It was beautiful. I grabbed Finn, cupped his face then I kissed him like I meant it. He kissed back then he broke the kiss, putting the necklace on my neck.

"Wooohooo!" My friends said.
"Invite us to your wedding." Ice King joked.
"Of course." I replied, playing along. I grabbed Finn's hand then we ran to them. Jake engulfed us in a huge hug.
"I love you guys!" We all said together.
