Chapter 30: Whispers

PB's P.O.V

I got off my swan then I ran to the lab. I'm so furious. Marceline betrayed me, then she hurt my precious Butterscotch!

I can't help but scream and cry from anger. I smashed a couple of test tubes and flasks, screamed and I just let all my angst out.

Stop PB, you need to make Butterscotch better. My mind said to me. Right, right. I put on my lab coat, washed my hands then I put on my eye protection.

I sat down, got a pencil and a paper then started to think of what may heal Butterscotch. Out of frustration, I took my tiara off then threw it across the room.

I digged my fingernails into my head, trying to think. Cmon PB, you can do this. I felt a cold shiver down my spine then I felt like something is trying to get in my head.
"Argh!" The next thing I knew, I'm hearing whispers.

"Keep it together bubblegum."
"Don't worry."
"Mix this with that."
"That will heal her."
"Trust me."
"Take risks."

I can't make out who the voice belongs to but I am going to take risks to save my baby girl. I let the whispers take over me.

I mindlessly combined certain chemicals, letting the whispers take over then I heated it. Finally, it's complete. I picked yp my crown, put in back on then I rode to the hospital.

I got off my swan then ran to the doors. I saw Finn and Jake sitting in the waiting area.

"Princess!" Finn and Jake ran and gave me a quick hug.
"How is she?" I asked, panic written all over my face.
"The doctors managed to patch her scars up. She's good as new but...her heart isn't beating." Jake trailed off.

"I'm going to see her." I walked to the emergency room to see my Butterscotch. On the bed, in the prestine white room. I ran over to her.
"This will help you dear." I kissed her forehead before I pop the test tube open. I poured it, I felt the energy that took over me go out of my mind.

I snapped out of it. Wha? I heard Finn and Jake scream and barge in telling me to not pour. But its too late. I felt Finn's hand slap the empty test tube out of my hand to the floor.

"THAT DOES NOT HELP HER." Jake screamed. What have I done? Butterscotch slowly opened her eyes. Its....red. She smiled at us. Her hair slowly turning into fine black hair, her skin getting pale blue. Oh no.

"Hello, Bonnie. It isn't over." Her fangs showing. I realize what I have done.
"MARCELINE!" We all screamed in anger. She just floated away. We let her get away.
"WHAT DID YOU DO?" Finn asked me panic in his eyes.

"I-I heard whispers taking over my mind. The next thing I knew I poured something on Butterscotch. I think she played with my mind.." I stuttered, falling to the ground. Pain in my heart.

"Let's make sure she doesn't bother you guys anymore." Jake pulled us in a hug.

"Butterscotch or no Butterscotch, I will rule my kingdom, not letting it get in my head." I managed to smile at Finn. He blushed then smiled back at me.

"Aww. I love you two guys together!" Jake stared at us then hugging us once more. We walked out of the hospital. Jake stretchd into a train. We laughed then we rode on him, back to the palace. Finn and I held hands.

You know what? I'm starting to not care about what they say anymore. I can rule the kingdom and be with Finn at the same time. Like, this is my life. I can choose what I want to. I write my own story, not them. And I love Finn, no matter what

"Aww how sweet!" Jake said, snapping me out of my thoughts. I looked at Finn. He's crimson red with a smile on his face.
"You speak your thoughts loud, PB." Finn said. I blushed of embarassment. I didn't mean to say it out loud heh.

"We're here!" Jake stretched back into his normal self.
"Jake, can I stay the night at PB's?" Finn asked Jake. Jake wiggled his eyebrows at me.

"Sure bud. Don't do anything stupid!" Jake said before hugging him then walking away, as if on cue, Lady comes by and walks with him. Lovebirds.

"I missed you." Finn hugged me.
"I missed you too." I hugged him back. I hope things go back the way they were.
