Dinah and Normani spent hours at the fashion district.

Their first stop was Nordstrom's, which was Normani's first priority. After she got what she needed for tomorrow's gift exchange, her and Dinah just went to any store that caught their eye.

They were currently at a jewel parlor, looking at necklaces, bracelets. anklets, and rings of the most exquisite caliber. Though their time together was full of laughs, there was always that god-forsaken truth in the back of their minds.

Dinah did her best to keep her thoughts and questions to herself. She used her emotions to fuel her affection towards the ebony.

Normani knew it and accepted everything she received – intertwined fingers, soft arm rubs, lingering hugs from behind.

But the kisses...the kisses were what really melted Normani.

Dinah was always a great kisser. But there was something so pure and sincere about the way their lips connected today.

Anyone who didn't know them would think they were in a loving, committed relationship. And that's what Normani wanted.

Her and the blonde milked the façade while in the jewel parlor, flagging down one of the employees to help with picking out rings.

"You ladies came on a good day," the man smiled. "Our selection just increased. You'll have plenty of styles to choose from."

The two sat down across from the young man as he stood behind a case full of modeled rings. Each one had a different gem adorning it, which made the sight so beautiful.

"Wow..." Dinah said in awe, "...they're all so pretty."

"Take your time, babe," Normani smiled, wrapping her arm around the blonde. "We're in no rush."

"Lucky girl," the man smirked. "You nabbed yourself a spoiler."

The blonde chuckled at the wink he gave her before he went to assist another customer.

"I want to get one that'll mean something," Dinah said thoughtfully. "Everyone goes for diamonds. I want Vic's to be different."

Normani hummed in thought as her eyes scanned the case for something worthwhile. That's when she saw the prettiest, hazel brown gemstone tucked snugly away towards the back.

She had never seen a ring so beautiful. It had a peculiar shine to it, one that was different from your typical diamond gleam.

"Her favorite color's brown, right?" she asked without looking away.

"Yeah," Dinah answered. "Why?"

"I think I found the ring you're looking for."

With a smile, Normani got the attention of the jeweler that helped them earlier, asking him to bring out the ring with the brown gem so they could have a closer look.
