After spending some more time with her potential mate, Beyoncé made her way to the Angel of Death – Abaddon.
Her surface name was Serena, and she usually liked to be referred to as such. But she always allowed Bey to call her by her actual name.
She oversaw Purgatory and had information on every soul that was entering the underworld.
As soon as Bey entered her dwelling, the tall demon looked up and smiled.
"What an honor it is to have her majesty grace me with her presence," the horned angel greeted.
Beyoncé playfully rolled her eyes.
"Quit the dramatics," she chuckled. "I need you to help me with something."
"What's up?"
"I need you to bring me some information on a new soul...her name's Normani."
"Normani..."
The tall woman scrolled through the many shelves she had, all of them organized in alphabetical order.
When she got to "N", she quickly located Normani's file, using her powers to send it over to the blonde. Beyoncé looked it over before nodding over to the angel of death.
"Why so curious?" Serena asked. "You're usually not one to care about something so trivial."
Beyoncé was reluctant on telling anyone about her imprint before she, herself, could make sense of it. So, she settled for the simplest answer.
"Can't be an effective queen if I don't brush up on who enters our domain."
Serena was one of the only demons that could see right through Bey. The blonde was thankful that she left well enough alone for the time being.
After bidding the angel of death a farewell, Beyoncé left Purgatory and went back to Inferno.
She knew that Ciara was still in her quarters, spending time with Lauren and Solána, so she made a detour to her private study. She made sure to keep the door completely closed, sensing that she was about to fall down a rabbit hole.
She sat in her office chair and brought the file onto the desk, using her powers to open everything up as the information hovered in front of her.
Her eyes scanned every piece of paper intensely as she took in the information. Each paper covered everything that happened to the girl during each year of her life so far.
"Entered her first pageant at five..." Bey recited to herself, "...was a gymnast for a good portion of her life...had a few boyfriends..."
The blonde grimaced at the last little fact before the information that immediately followed it caught her eye. The words were italicized in blood red ink.
"...parents killed on impact..."
Bey's eyes stayed fixated on that one sentence after thinking back to what she saw in the holding unit.
Feeling her eyes glowing more by the second, she brought her finger over the words to access the memories they held. Almost instantly, a faint image of the same memory appeared like a movie screen.
The couple, presumably the girl's parents, were happily conversing with a slightly younger looking Normani.
Beyoncé observed each person – the young girl was a carbon copy of her mother. The two shared the same smile and laugh.
