Beyoncé and Amaris had returned to Inferno after having their much needed talk.

It was now the wee hours of the night. While the blonde laid in bed, Taron at the foot of it, she helplessly watched as her mate whimpered and trembled in her sleep.

Her body was coaxed in a stressful glisten, her night sweats creeping back up on her. Amaris told Bey that her spiritual awakening wouldn't be a comfortable or pleasant process, but the blonde was never comfortable with seeing her Babybird suffer.

Even Taron was concerned for his master. He laid his beak on her cheek in an attempt to warm her from her shivers, but she only continued to whimper. His sad eyes looked up to Bey as he released a soft hoot.

"I know, sweet boy..." she uttered, "...but she'll be okay...I promise...as long as we stay here beside her, she'll get better..."

After leaning into the blonde's affectionate touch, the flamed bird laid one of his wings over the both of his masters, causing the ebony to subconsciously lean into Bey.

Her whimpering dwindled as a result, causing a smile to form on Bey's face as she wrapped her arms around her.

Her heart was still heavy at all she put her mate through. She was the reason the young one was suffering. She wanted to make it right – to take all her pain away. But she didn't know how when Normani still wasn't in control of herself.

"Talk to her..."

Bey heard Amaris's voice as clear as day.

"You said she needed more time..." she responded, "...she probably won't want to hear anything I have to say, right now...assuming she even can..."

"She may not be talking to you, but she can still hear you...she can still feel you...her pride is in the way now, but she does miss you...you two are still connected...this spiritual process would be easier on her with you going through it with her...so, talk to her..."

Bey looked down to the ebony, her nerves higher than they've ever been. She had already messed up so much, she didn't want to say anything to make it worse.

But she knew if she thought about it too hard, she'd mess up anyway. The best thing to do now, was to speak from her heart. So, after taking a deep breath, she began speaking softly to her mate.

"...I know you're not speaking to me, right now...and I don't blame you...I fucked up...big time...but I really need you to know that I would never...ever...do anything to intentionally hurt you. That's the last thing I want to do to you. From the moment I laid eyes on you, I knew you were mine. I wish I could show you how hard I fought to get you here. Many of the malevolence didn't understand me...shit, I didn't understand me – the feelings I have for you were so foreign to me in the beginning. I've never loved someone as much as I love you. Mani...I'm in love with you...and I don't want to lose you. So please...please come back to me. I'll do better. I'll be better. I just need a chance to explain myself..."

Taron was the first to notice Normani's whimpers stop the more Bey talked. Amaris was right, the ebony could hear Bey.

It was like the sound of her voice served as a lullaby to ease her of her aches. Bey observed the absence of the young one's whimpers, her eyes beginning to shimmer with emotion as she watched the ebony gently bury herself into the blonde's warmth.
