𝑰𝒕'𝒔 𝑻𝒊𝒎𝒆...
Christmas was deemed a success in Normani's eyes.
She got to spend it with the people she loved, and got to see their priceless reactions to their gifts.
Watching Dinah give Victoria the ring they got from the parlor was icing on the cake. The brunette had joyful tears streaming down her face as she swept the blonde off her feet and kissed her like there was no tomorrow.
But what really made her heart sing, was presenting Chloe with her parting gift.
Normani got Dinah to sketch it a while back. Once Beyoncé came on one of her visits, she saw the sketch and asked Normani to describe it to her.
The ebony went into detail of what materials it would ideally be made out of, as well as the kind of stone that would grace its center.
Once the blonde gathered all the materials, she went to the under realm's most notorious welders to have it made. What was once just an idea in Normani's mind, was now the most beautiful and unique ring to ever exist.
Chloe opened the box and immediately began to cry. Her eyes were met with the purest shade of blue from the ring's natural Lapis gemstone. It was a pear-shaped promise ring, with tiny leaves holding a single, small diamond on the bottom.
It gleamed up at Chloe, a gleam held with a promise that Normani would always love her.
Even in death.
Beyoncé charmed it to never rust or age. The blonde knew that leaving Chloe was gonna be the hardest thing Normani would ever do. The least she could do was aid her in her preparation.
Normani dressed Chloe's finger with the ring with extra care, kissing its stone to solidify her love for her.
Chloe was an emotional wreck as she threw herself into the older woman's embrace, kissing her with every ounce of life that flowed through her. It was the best and most thoughtful gift she had ever received.
And it was the greatest calm before the storm...
It was New Year's Eve...and Normani's last day in this life. She wanted to spend every waking moment with Chloe before her time came. That's exactly what she did.
The two stayed in bed all day, only getting up to make breakfast and lunch. They talked about any and everything under the sun.
They spent the day talking about everything and nothing. There were plenty of times Normani would just stare at her, keeping herself from shedding tears.
The reality was suddenly setting in that everything the ebony knew was about to come to an end.
"What's wrong, Manibear?" Chloe asked, caressing Normani's face.
