"Why are we here again? Why are we following them?" Lydia asked for what had to be the third time in the last five minutes.

Angie didn't answer. She kept her eyes locked on the road, following the bus carrying the lacrosse team. She didn't want to say the real reason, because it sounded insane even in her head. After kissing Tyler, everything had come crashing down around her. She didn't know what she was doing anymore, where she was supposed to go, who she was even mad at. And somewhere deep down, she was ashamed.

And beyond all the boy problems... there were other, much bigger problems. Like the secret she was keeping from Lydia and the others about the other night when the Alpha pack attacked. Nobody expected her to show up — but she did. She had to. Because if she didn't, something was going to go horribly wrong. The twins had been there too. She couldn't leave Scott and the rest alone with them.

"Okay, Lina — I know something's bothering you," Lydia pushed again, her voice more insistent this time. "But can you just tell me? Please?"

Angie gripped the wheel tighter, her stomach knotting.

"I think I did something really bad... well, I know I did," she muttered, eyes fixed ahead.

"Which is...?" Lydia waited, her tone cautious but curious.

Angie hesitated. Saying it out loud made it real. But it was worse carrying it inside.

"So... you know after seeing Isaac and Allison together, I got super mad. Like, really mad. And in my head, I was convinced Isaac was doing it to get back at me. So I thought... the best thing to do was... well... get him back."

Lydia's eyes widened, her lips pressing together.

"But then he moved out..." Angie trailed off, her voice cracking a little.

"Okay, okay, Angie — calm down," Lydia cut in gently, worried. "I'd rather not have you hyperventilating while you're driving."

"I'm okay," Angie said quickly, though the words felt like a lie. "It's just... I kissed Tyler."

She felt Lydia's stare, even though she refused to look away from the road.

"I didn't mean to. It wasn't like I planned it or anything. But then when I saw Isaac didn't even care — like, didn't blink — I got so mad and... I don't know."

The silence between them stretched, thick and uncomfortable.

"Go ahead. Shame me. Get it over with," Angie muttered.

But Lydia surprised her.

"Okay, one — I'm not gonna shame you. Honestly, if we're being real? I probably would've done the same thing," Lydia admitted, rubbing her forehead. "But Angie... what are you getting out of this? Just making Isaac mad?"
