Chapter 24

Third pov

G stomped out in rage while spewing out a few cuss words, reaching in to his pocket to fish out his phone, calling his brother aster immediately while he ran over to the other school monitor, who some how didn't see what happened either, he never really does, this man always found a secret spot to slack off at and sleep the lazy bastard. Of course when G told him his daughter was missing, all the human could do was shrug at him, which only made g more pissed off then he already was.

" BROTHER? WHAT'S THE MATTER?"

" cross got a hold of autumn!" G spewed out while calling all of the children inside, with miss amani freaking out next to him. She had turned to the other monitor to chew him out for not keeping a closer on on his section of the school yard. " You are most definitely getting fired for losing one of my students! Just you wait till the principal hears about this!"

" it's not my fault! G was supposed to be watching too!" The man complains while pointing over to said skeleton, who glared over at the man while his brothers voice could be heard over the phone, frantically trying to figure out what was going on.

" WHAT DO YOU MEAN CROSS TOOK HER? WHAT HAPPENED? WHY WEREN'T YOU WATCHING HER?!"

" I was a bit distracted with some kids at the time, he must've taken that moment to take her before anyone else could notice.."

" HOW DID SHE GET CLOSE TO HER"

" I don't know.."

" SOMEONE MUST KNOW! ASK AROUND WHILE I GET AHOLD OF SANS AND THE OTHERS"

After that g looked around a bit, watching the scene in front of him before an idea popped in to his head, he looked over towards autumns group of friends, maybe they might have known what happened to her and how she got close to her.

Meanwhile autumn was having the best time of her life, sure she didn't recognize a lot of the skeletons she ran in to, all besides dust and ghost, but this cross character and his friend killer? Something about them made her feel a little uneasy around them, once the lot of them took her from the school. She was currently in the arms of her papa dust, looking around a little bit at this small looking cabin, it was weird kind of it looked run down a bit, cracked wooden floors, a semi-broken window nearby.

" Papa dust...why is your house broken?" The child asks while he sat them down on a rundown looking couch, flopping next to her with a soft sigh. " It's just like that, don't worry about it too much kiddo."

A soft hum was all autumn could really do, looking around a bit more while kicking her legs back and forth in front of her, humming a soft song to herself while she waited for...something to happen. After a while some goopy looking skeleton came out of nowhere, popping right in front of autumn making her jump back against the couch a little bit with a squeak.

" Ah! Y...you scared me"

The new stranger smirked a bit, long tentacles came out his of his back, making their way over to autumn. One of them gripped on to her face, tilting it back and forth before he looked over at dust.

" This. Is the child you're fretting over?"

" yep"

" A human"

" yeah"

Nightmare let the child go, glaring over at dust for a moment before peering back at the child. " so, little one." He seemed a bit disgusted with himself. " answer me a few questions hm?"

" Ok!"

" first off- your name"

" Autumn!"

Nightmare sat himself down on a nearby chair, leaning his hand against his chin a bit while he went on to the next question.

" anything you know about a machine?"

" A... machine? I've heard about it but I never saw it, papa sans says I don't have to worry about it cuz it's not something that affects me, why do you wanna know about it so much? Is it because you work on it with him too?"

Nightmare blankly stares at her, well that was a waste of time, this kid obviously doesn't know anything, maybe if keep her here for a while he might figure something out.

"When can I go home? My papas might get worried."

" dont worry kiddo" dust spoke suddenly, catching her and nightmares attention. " We'll take ya back after a this visit ok?"

" Ok! So it's like a big sleepover!"

" Yeah...it's a sleepover" dust pats her head a little before peering up at nightmare, who was looking at him with a unreadable expression, in this time cross had walked in with a few blankets in his hands, a pillow sat in top of it. " here are the extra stuff you asked for boss, im headed to the spare room now to set it up"

" yeah yeah, take the little parasite with you will ya?"

" Yep" cross picked said child up with one arm before disappearing with her into the next room, her voice echoing out with questions before fading away softly. Dust and nightmare starred at each other for a moment, waiting for one of the other to speak.

" so....care to explain?"

" ...she reminds me of..."

" Pap? Kinda knew but still wanted the explanation..."

" hm.... you're not gonna hurt her are you..."

Nightmare shook his head, leaning forward in his chair a bit, starring dust down with another few minutes of silence before he stood up from his seat, heading towards the kitchen.

" Do Not. Go Soft For Her. Understood?" Nightmare spike pointing a deadly tentacle at his companion. Dust rolled his eyes with a soft smile, shrugging a little while peering at his boss.

" can't make any promises....who knows, kid might make ya soft for all we know..."

" tch, I doubt a human, a child no less could do so."

" We'll see, with all of that positivity...."

The two of them look at one another for a moment before a look of realization came on to their face.

" OH SHIT!"
