Chapter 40

Third pov

The next few days were uncomfortable after that encounter, Toriel tried time and time again to get the police to arrest Katie for assault, but due to the situation the police let Katie off. Which of of course enraged the queen further.

" She pushed me to the ground!" She had said to the police offer she had taken over to the skeletons household, the cop only shook his head while he placed his hands on his hips. " I'm sorry ma'am, but due to YOU trying to take their child illegally her actions were justified" with that the police took sans and papyrus's statements before leaving. Toriel stood before the two of them with an intense glare. " Mock my words you two, I will get that child from you, one way or another." With that she left the two in silence, thinking about what they should do next. Papyrus wanted to file a restraining order against the queen of monsters, but sans countered it on account Toriel will still try and call for abuse from afar, they have to do something really drastic unfortunately to get her off of their backs.

Autumn was nearby, out of sight but still listening to them, she didn't want toriel taking her away but she also didn't want to stop seeing her...despite everything she's still giving her another chance. Which is naive yes, but she couldn't help it, she didn't like hating people who make simple mistakes. Autumn quickly slipped away to her room, closing the door softly before she looked around for a piece of paper, some crayons and markers. Once she found everything she was then laid out on the floor, happily coloring pictures of and for everyone that was here Halloween night, all of them apology cards for her own behavior. After she was about done with ten of them, stretch had knocked on her cracked door, poking his head in a little before walking in. He crouched down in front of her with a gentle smile.

" hey kiddo, how ya doing?"

" I'm ok, making stuff."

Stretch looked down at her artwork, cringing a little at the multiple sorry's littering the half-folded paper. " Whatcha makin?"  The child stayed silent for a few moments before she answered his question: apologies...to everyone that was here on Halloween...for my terrible behavior..."

" oh kiddo that wasn't your fault, toriel was completely out of line.." swap said before autumn stood up to her feet sighing a little bit before she began to clean her crayons and markers up. " i still have to apologize for her behavior, it ruined the party and i want everyone who was here to get an apology." 

' wow this kid is mature for her age, she's not even five yet and she's more mature than toriel and undyne'

stretch smiled at the child warmly before patting her head, picking her up into his arms as he walked out of the bedroom with her. " well you'll have that chance today when we meet all of your friends at the park today" this made the child's eyes sparkle with stars, she lifts her arms in the air as she cried out happily. " yaaaaaah! i forgot that was today! we also get to see baby oliver and baby eilot!" the child went on a rant while she and her skeletal parent made it into the kitchen where most of the house hold was, along with some new faces as well, some friendly, some scary looking. they were skeleton's as well, so more papa's. two of them looked like her papa sans and papa papyrus but if they were from an oldie time, dressed in suits, one black and blue while they other black and orange. The other two were like papa edge and papa red, but they looked so much bigger and meaner. maybe they aren't mean, it wasn't right for autumn to judge them by their looks, she knew better. stil though, that large scar on the tallest skeleton made a shiver go down her spine. 

The big papa red was slumped in a chair nearby, looking as if he were asleep before one of his eyes shot open when stretch and autumn arrived, he sat up more and blinked for a moment before he spoke in a weird voice, a voice that sounded foreign to autumn, she had never heard such a unique voice before. " so you guys actually adopted a little dame?" he stood up and towered over stretch, poking the child's nose which made her hide her face with a squeak. " heh, this the kid G wanted us to watch over huh? she's a cutie"  papa gangsta said from his spot by the table. papa orange smiled warmly at the girl before tapping his brother on the shoulder. " yeah yeah i know, focus on the task, come on butch, let's get this paperwork filled out." butch did as he was asked, patting autumns head once before he slumped over to his brothers. 

autumn watched them for a moment while stretch spoke with papa blue, who was packing up a bag of food for the picnic planned at the park today autumn however had wiggled her way out of his arms on to the floor, scampering curiously over to the table where these new people were. standing next to butch and the much taller edge look alike. she placed her hands on the table to peak over the top of it, noticing a lot of paper scattered along the table, papa gangsta was in the middle of speaking before he blinked a couple of times before chuckling a bit. 

" you have a lot of homework" 

butch ruffled the child's head with laughter before picking her up to set her on one of his knees. " you could call it homework, but think of it as work for home instead of school". butch explained before he pats the childs head. sans, who was at the table as well shook his head softly, clearing his throat a bit before he spoke. " hey autumn, sweetheart, doncha got a play date today?" 

autumn smiled with a happy smile, getting off of butches lap before she ran off to blueberry, blackberry, viper and all other their taller brothers stood. autumn lifts her arms up to blueberry happily, excited for today. " I get to see baby eiliot and baby oliver today!!" she giggled a bit as she left with her papa's. once they all were in the small mini can blueberry had received from papa ink, autumn was strapped in her car seat that sat in the backseat, mutt and stretch siting on either side while cash sat in the back, surprisingly. Wine and kofi came along as well, how everyone was able to fit into the car, it was a mystery for another day. " papa blueberry!" 

" YES MY LITTLE SNUGGLE BUG?"

" when we get to the park, will you push me on the swings please?" 

Blueberry couldn't help but chuckle at the child's innocent question. " WELL, WE KINDA HAVE SOMETHING ELSE IN MIND SWEET BERRIES" he replied before passing the park, which of course confused autumn, but not long she slowly started to realize the direction they were heading in. she somehow got out of her seatbelt, jumping to the middle of the front seat, startling blueberry and wine " are we going to the mall again?" wine turned to her and tried getting her to her car seat, scolding her in the process. " Little Rabbit, I know You Are Excited But PLEASE. Don't Get Out Of Your Seat" 

" i...i'm sorry"

" IT'S ALRIGHT SNUGGLE BUG, JUST BE PAIENT OK?" 

" ok" 

after a while the skeletons reached their destination, autumn was still confused, it was some type of park, but it had giant slides with water coming out of them. what is this place? when the young child looked up at stretch, he couldn't help but laugh a bit. " what, never seen a waterpark before?"
