Chapter 41

Third pov

The past year autumn had was amazing, Christmas was great, thanksgiving was awesome to, and filled with so much more food than she had ever seen before. she remembers that day very well, the moment she woke up on thanksgiving she immediately smelled food being made for later that day...or night whenever it was finished.  when autumn arrived in the kitchen after she got out of bed, she saw several of her adopted papa's rushing around that morning trying to get breakfast out of the way so they could get started on dinner.  papyrus was the first to notice autumn, he smiled at her with that bright smile she always loved to see in the morning. it meant that he was happy, and she loved seeing her papa's happy. 

" GOOD MORNING AUTUMN! ARE YOU HUNGRY?"

a soft nod was his answer as the child grabbed her stool, pulling it nearby papyrus so she could help him out with breakfast, she couldn't help it. She loved to cook, it was a passion of hers so the idea of helping out during breakfast was an exciting idea to her. " wanna make pancakes papa" papyrus gently rubbed the girls head, listening to her ideas while the others around her nodded in agreement.  " PUMPKIN SPICE PANCAKES?" Edge asked with a slight tone of curiosity and a bit of worry as to see how this recipe will turn out. autumn nodded her head rapidly while wrapping her arms around the giant bag of flour, Kofi standing behind her keeping his arms out to make sure she didn't fall over. " with bacon and eggs! it's perfect!" 

"  AUTUMN THAT'S A WONDERFULL IDEA! PUMPKIN PANCAKES TO MATCH THE FALL SEASON, WITH BACON AND EGGS ADDED TO IT FOR A SPRITS OF BREAKFAST CLASSICS." ' Pumpkin' replied to the child while kneeling down on the other side of the counter, watching autumn attempt to measure how much flour she needed for the pancakes. Breakfast came out amazing, and right on time as well, sans and the other more ' uninspired' papa's came down just as breakfast was finished. " Sans! sans guess what i did!" autumn ran up to said person, tackling him with a tight hug, surprising the sleepy skeleton a moment before she ranted on about the morning she had and how much fun she made breakfast. Sans chuckles at the child, picking her up in his arms while walking over to the table where he sat her down in her regular seat next to mutt and red, autumn shuffled a bit in her seat, pouting a little bit. " what's the matter short stack?" her gruff papa asked with a mouthful of eggs, autumn crunched up her nose a bit at the rude manners. " first all-" she started while crossing her arms over her chest " don talk with your mouth full, it's rude" a few giggles and snickers erupted from around the table, making red gulp down the bite he had, apologizing a bit. " secondly, i...i wanna sit next to papa sans and papa papyrus today...please?" the room was silent for a few moments before papyrus spoke up happily. " I'M SURE NOONE HAS AN ISSUE WITH THAT?" He looked over at stretch who grinned while shrugging up his shoulder, he got up and let autumn sit down next to sans, he sat where she sat, leaning his arm on top of red's head. " guess she got tired of ya red"

" she ain't tired o nobody carrot top-"

after breakfast that morning, sans had to carry out some plans for that afternoon, katie and molly had asked sans if he'd like to come with the two of them, while they got last minute  stuff for what their making. autumn, after hearing that sans was going out to see katie again. Wasted no time asking to go with him. He hesitates at first but nonetheless let's her, when stretch heard molly was going to be there, he tagged along as well. when they arrive, it seems as though maybe the girls have some way to get in touch with one another. Kathy and Avery were with their sister, along with their youngest siblings, the baby twins. molly had the two blondes in her arms, smiling like the angel she was, or an angel in stretches eyes. 

" I'm sorry you guys, tyler had some things he needed to get done for today" molly explained while walking next to stretch who happily took one of the twins into his arms to help molly out a bit. " So I have Eliot and Emily today-" she explained before kissing her brother's chubby cheeks, making the baby squeal with laughter.

When they all were able to get the children situated and into the carts, molly, Avery, Kathy, the two twins and stretch, all pushed one cart around, molly holding a list in her hand as she pushed the cart along. " Ok- we need eggs, bread crumbs, shredded cheese, tomato sauce, tomatoes, shrimp, fish, chicken!" She went on as she got further away from Katie, sans and autumn.

Autumn held onto sans's hand while gazing at molly, she was a bit surprised by how organized she was, the young child shook out of her daze when sans sets her into the cart.

She watched as he got next to Katie, leaning a bit close to her while they went on their own shopping list. It was awkwardly silent for a few minutes before sans cleared his throat " ahem...so uh...katie-"

" Yeah?" The women replied while gazing up at some veggie, she was glancing between some cucumbers and potatoes, she wasn't even paying attention to the blushing skeleton, yet she replied to him.

Sans gulped down some nerves before speaking in a nervous tone. " What have you been up to, since um... Thanksgiving, how was um.... visiting the family?"

Katie was silent for a moment as she gazed over at the blue blushing skeleton, her face dropped for a moment before she spoke in a low tone. " It was... alright....a bit hectic- mama was....-"

She paused and shook her head while beaming softly. " She's a little sick right now! But other than that thanksgiving was really good!". Sans saw that she was smiling, but he knew that forced smile like the back of his own skeletal hand, something was wrong, he wasn't going to push it, not wanting to upset her, so he dropped it.

With his own smile he shrugged before stuffing his hands into his pockets.

" heh. if ya say so sweetheart-" he spoke while watching Katie set her chosen veggies into the cart, Katie fixed her hair a bit before gripping the handle bar of the cart.

" Right!" She began " let's get the rest of this shopping list finished!"
