Makoto was sleeping in class again. His head rested on both of his arms crossed. His lips were slightly departed. Sayaka looked behind her to see him sleeping peacefully. She giggled at him thinking he was cute. Aoi thought of making Makoto and Sayaka date, she thought of them as a 'cute couple'. She sighed happily and continued writing. Sayaka took Makoto's notebook and wrote down what he might have missed while sleeping. She then placed it back on his desk and stroked his hair. As her hands brushed on his soft hair, she felt warm inside. As if she had a crush on Makoto. He slowly opened his eyes to see Sayaka's hand above him. He smiled and lifted his head up. "Good Afternoon, sleepy-head." She said cheerfully. "Hey. Uhh..how long was I sleeping?" He asked tiredly. Sayaka giggled. "For about 40 minutes or so." She said getting up and placing her notebook in her arms. "Oh.." He said as he looked in his notebook. He lifted a brow as he saw someone else's penmanship in his notebook. He lowered the notebook from his eyes and looked at Sayaka. "Um..Sayaka. Did someone take my notebook and write in it?" He asked. "That's my hand writing, silly! I wrote the rest of the notes down while you were sleeping!"
She said as she booped his nose. He smile cheerfully. "Thank you, Maizono! I was really bored and I guess I just fell to sleep of boredom. I'm so sorry if I bothered you to write them down!" He said feeling guilty that his friend wrote them down instead of him. "It's ok! I don't mind!" She said as she hugged him. He hugged her back. He then let go and went to his locker. He placed his notebook in his locker and got out his ELA notebook just as he did that he closed his locker shut and pulled his phone out his pocket. He leaned against his locker as he scrolled through social media. He had nothing better to do. He then shot a glanced at a girl.
He then put his phone away and began looking at her through a window from one of the class room in a corridor. She had lavender hair with a single braid tied with a black bow. Beautiful purple eyes and a gorgeous face. Dark purple blazer with a white button shirt with an orange tie and a short black skirt, along with black boots and knee high lilac sock as it seems. He didn't recognize her at all. Although, she was in 2 of his classes.
She was writing down extra notes from one of her lessons then closed the notebook and walked out the door. Makoto stopped staring and looked at the wall instead. She placed a notebook in her locker then pulled another out. She then walked by Makoto as he looked at her while she wasn't looking. She had a straight face. More like an iron mask as Makoto thought.
The bell rang, that meant they should be in their next period. Makoto followed her to the classroom because that's where he was supposed to be too. He sat down behind her and waited for the other students to come in. She had opened her notebook and began writing. There wasn't anything on the board and Makoto wondered what she was writing. She was adding writing to her notebook. 'She's quite the quiet type, huh? No wonder I don't ever notice her.' Makoto thought as he waited. The other ultimates came in and sat down ready for the lesson to start. They had to work in a group today and the teacher picked the students who were in groups. He sat and waited until he heard his name be called. "Naegi, Togami, and Kirigiri. You three will be working together." The teacher said as she handed each of them a paper. "Naegi? I've seen you around." The Ultimate Affluent Progeny, Togami Byakuya, said calmly. "Same to you, Togami." Naegi said giving him a small smile. Byakuya nodded. "And you must be Kirigiri Kyoko?" Byakuya asked of Kyoko. She nodded. They all began working together on a single laptop for their assignment. Kyoko was working with the laptop while Byakuya and Makoto wrote down the answers.
After 30 minutes of them working they finished quite early. They gave their teacher the assignment and she gave them an A+ for the details that Kyoko gave them. "Great work, you three! And especially you, Kirigiri! You did some amazing work, the added details were splendid." Their teacher praised her. "My pleasure, ma'am." She said calmly. 'She has a very soft voice too. 'Cute..'
Makoto thought. His cheeks began to turn a faint tint of red. He tried to hide it. As they went back to their seats. Kyoko read a book while Byakuya counted his billions of dollars. Makoto glanced at Kyoko and decided to start a conversation. "Hey, I'm Naegi Makoto! It's nice to meet you." He said with a sweet tone. She looked at him for a few seconds before speaking. "Kirigiri Kyoko." She replied. "That's a..really nice name." He complimented her. "Thank you, my grandfather picked it for me." She said as she placed a bookmark in her book and closed it. "So..what's your talent?" He asked curiously. She didn't answer. "I'll tell you mine if that makes you more comfortable." He said. She blinked, no response. "I'm the Ultimate Lucky Student, it's a useless talent I know." He said as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Ultimate Detective." She said as she placed one leg over the other. "Cool! I'd love to see you in action!" He said enthusiastically. "Maybe one day, Naegi." She said his name. He liked her soft and calming voice. "You have the same last name as our headmaster. I was wondering maybe if he was a relative?" He asked. "Yes, in fact he is. He wanted me here so I couldn't do any Detective work while in school for a few years." She said. "Oh...What book is that?" He said mentioning the book she was reading, as to not make anything awkward and scare the girl away. "It's about the Salem Witch Trials." She replied.
"Well, this class is about to end. Maybe I can walk with you to lunch?" He asked. She nodded. He got up and grabbed his notebook. A second later the bell rings, Makoto goes into his locker and puts his notebook away. He saw Kyoko putting her stuff away. She kept the book by her side and walked with Makoto to lunch. Kyoko sat across Makoto and Aoi looked confused. Kyoko never bothered to sit close to anyone. "Hey, Eggs what's this about?" Aoi asked. "Oh this is my new friend, Kiri!" He said introducing her. "Kiri? We can work with that nickname."
She said as she looked back down at her book while eating some spicy chicken ramen. Makoto was eating some fancy ramen that the school prepared. Kyoko's father made her some food so she could have something to eat at lunch since their ramen wasn't spicy. "Where's Maizono?" She asked again. "I thought she was here-" "Hey guys!" Sayaka said cheerfully. "Hey Maizono! Naegi made a new friend." Aoi said eyeing Kyoko. Sayaka wasn't very happy. She liked Makoto. She didn't want any other girl stealing him. "Oh that's nice! Your The Ultimate Fighter, right?" Sayaka asked, aware she would upset Kyoko. "Detective." She said. "Well can you scoot over? I normally sit in front of Makoto." Sayaka asked. "No. You don't normally sit in front of Naegi."
Kyoko said calmly. "You sit beside him everyday according to my memory." She said said as she twisted the spicy ramen onto her fork and stabbed some chicken before it was placed into her mouth. "Whatever. Anyway! How was the assignment, Naegi? Ya,know in ELA?" She asked. "Yep! I was teamed up with Kiri and Togami!" He replied with a big smile. "Kiri?" She tilted her head. "Kiri is short for Kirigiri! I gave her a nickname and she agreed with it!" He chirped. "Mhmm.." Sayaka glared at Kyoko. "I have to go now. Practice makes Perfect! Bye, Naegi!" She waved. He waved back. Kyoko stared at Makoto. "Is there something wrong, Kiri?" He asked. "Hmm..it's nothing. I'm probably over-thinking." She said as she took a sip of her milk tea. "Ok!"
