-1 week later-
Makoto was really excited to go on his date with Sayaka. He quickly got dressed and busted through his door but, bumped into someone as he did. They both fell over. Makoto looked up to see Kyoko. He began blushing quite hard. "Kiri? W-What were you doing at my door?" He asked nervously. "I came to tell you that we have an exam today. I'm sure you needed to be prepared. By the way, do you mind getting up, please?" She asked. "Oh! Sorry!" He exclaimed as he picked himself up and lended Kyoko a hand. She grabbed his hand and got up then handed him a paper of extra notes that weren't written down on the board. 'She always writing down extra notes. She's a smart girl, huh?' He thought as he placed the notes in his sweater pocket. Sayaka placed a kiss on Makoto's cheek and held both of his hands as Kyoko walked away. "Hey, baby! I'm glad to see you!" She squealed. Makoto smiled back. "Me too!" They both walked to class together and for the remainder of the day they were with each other.
~~~After School~~~
Makoto and Sayaka where at the cafe this evening. Makoto was eating 2 croissants and a cup of tea. While Sayaka was eating a sandwich with tea as well. As Makoto took a bite out of the croissant he took a glance at Sayaka and saw the expression of concern. He lifted his head and opened his mouth. "Sayaka? You ok?" He asked. "Would you...ya know, cheat on me?" Sayaka asked with a frown. Makoto's eyes widened. "Of course not! We just got together a week ago and your already assuming this?" Makoto asked. "I've just been anxious. What if you like someone other than me?" Sayaka asked with sadness in her tone. Makoto sighed. "I would never." "What about Kyoko?" "We're friends. Why would she like me?" He asked. "Well your cute and clumsy." Sayaka said while numbering those 2 with her fingers. "Don't worry, she doesn't like me. And I don't think she has a romantic interest in anyone." He said while resting his elbows on the table and holding his hand out to the left. Sayaka mumbled "I guess" whilst exhaling and shrugging. Makoto blinked before collecting their remains and throwing them away. He held out a hand to Sayaka to help her out her chair. She grabbed his hand and pulled herself out the chair and pushed it back towards the table before walking out the cafe with Makoto. They both got in his car and drove back to the school so they could rest in their dorms. As they entered the school Makoto and Sayaka went separate directions. Makoto passed a few lockers before entering the library. As he entered his eyes met up with Kyoko silently reading a book. "Hey Kiri!" Makoto greeted her. She looked his direction. "Good Afternoon, Naegi." She replied before placing her nose back into the book. He sat beside her and curious tried to read the words in the book. Kyoko didn't mind his nosiness as she flipped a page. "Whatcha readin'?" Makoto smiled. "A Sherlock Holmes novel." She said calmly. "How was your date with Sayaka?" She asked whilst not making eye contact. "It was fine. Though, she was concerned I liked you. Not that I do! Sorry if that sounded weird! I'm sorry!" He hid his blush with his hoodie. Kyoko smiled softly. "It's fine." She said. Makoto then eyed her gloves. "Nice gloves!" He complimented. "Oh thank you. Their really nothing to admire though." She said looking away. "Well maybe not but, your something to admire." He said smiling. "Why do you always compliment me?" She asked raising a brow. "Well because I wanna be your friend! I know deep down your a very loving and kind person!" He said slightly blushing while his hand was on the back of his neck. "Oh.." She mumbled. He tucked a string of hair behind her ear. She sighed. "Don't keep your hair near your eyes, your beauty wont be visible that way.." He said softly.
Kyoko's cheeks were a faint of pink as he said that. Makoto was a caring and admirable person who could kill someone with his kindness. They both remained silent as Kyoko read and Makoto was leaning his head onto her shoulder. She was uncomfortable but, she didn't want him to leave either. 30 minutes later, Byakuya came in and saw Makoto sleeping on Kyoko's shoulder and grimaced. "What is he, your boyfriend?" Byakuya scoffed. Kyoko looked up from her book. "No. He came in here after his date." She said quietly, careful not to wake him. "Sure." Byakuya rolled his eyes and picked out a book before leaving. Kyoko ignored Byakuya and continued reading. She then checked her phone. '7:26' She read in her mind. She knew she had to get Makoto up and in his room although, she didn't know how. She placed her gloved hand onto his shoulder and gently shook him. "Naegi..wake up.." She said. He hummed softly. "You gotta get up. I need to go to my room." She said whilst closing her book. He got up and sleep walked to her room by accident and flopped onto her bed. She sighed in defeat and walked into her bathroom to shower. Afterwards, she walked into her room seeing a sleeping Makoto remaining on her bed. She sat next to him and turned on her tv to watch something interesting. She decided to watch The Girl on the Train. As she watched the movie she noticed Makoto moving a little. She thought nothing of it until Makoto put his arm around her. She moved his arm but, he replaced it again. She gave up and gripped her pillow. She closed her eyes and thought. She thought of her hard work as a detective. After a few minutes, she drifted to a deep sleep, dreaming of solving a case of course.
