13. BLESSED OR CURSED - NUMBERS

1John 3:10
In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil:
whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God,
neither he that loveth not his brother.

My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue;
but in deed and in truth. *18

Children of God

it pleases the LORD to bless you.
the spirit of God will come upon you.

You shall hear the words of God,
and see the vision of the Almighty,

falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:

Numbers 24:1-9

And when Balaam saw that it
pleased the LORD to bless Israel,
he went not, as at other times,
to seek for enchantments, but
he set his face toward the wilderness. *1

And Balaam lifted up his eyes,
and he saw Israel abiding in his tents
according to their tribes;
and the spirit of God came upon him. *2

And he took up his parable,
and said, Balaam the son of Beor
hath said, and the man whose eyes
are open hath said: *3

He hath said, which heard
the words of God,
which saw the vision
of the Almighty,
falling into a trance,
but having his eyes open: *4

How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob,
and thy tabernacles, O Israel! *5

Your homes spread forth
as the valleys are,
as gardens by the river's side,
as the trees of lign aloes
which the LORD hath planted,
and as cedar trees
beside the waters. *6

He shall pour the water
out of his buckets,
and his seed shall be
in many waters, and his king
shall be higher than Agag,
and his kingdom
shall be exalted. *7

You shall have as it were
the strength of an unicorn:
You shall eat up
the nations your enemies,
and shall break their bones,
and pierce them through
with your arrows. *8

You couched,
you lay down as a lion,
and as a great lion:
who shall stir you up?

Blessed is he that blesseth thee,
and cursed is he that curseth thee. *9

Numbers 6:24-27

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: *24

The LORD make his face
shine upon thee,
and be gracious unto thee: *25

The LORD lift up his countenance
upon thee, and give thee peace. *26

And they shall put my name
upon the children of Israel;
and I will bless them. *27

Numbers 22:6
Come now therefore, I pray thee,
curse me this people;
for they are too mighty for me:
peradventure I shall prevail,
that we may smite them,
and that I may drive them
out of the land:

for I wot (know) that he whom
thou blessest is blessed, and he
whom thou cursest is cursed.
