Chapter 10:

Chifuyu's trying to get his bike to start, but it's not working. He furrows his brows, dismounting and leaning it back on its kickstand before walking around the perimeter. You cock you head, burying your nose a little deeper into the scarf you were wearing.

"Son of a bitch!" Chifuyu hisses, turquoise eyes piercing the bike in front of him.

You're no savant of bikes, but you walk on over, trying to assess the problem yourself. There's something leaking out of one of the pipes that Chifuyu bends down to smell. His nose crinkles, his fists clenching at his side. It's evident from the way he's staring at his bike that it's not supposed to be there. You purse your lips, brushing the back of your hand against Chifuyu's. He snaps his attention towards you, his sharp glare making you tense before he seems to realize who you are. His gaze softens, but he just manages to look tired. He reaches into his pocket and the sound of paper crinkling gathers your attention. He's pouting as he stares at his bike.

"Guess we're walking then." You sigh, shoving your cold hands into your pockets.

"Sorry..." Chifuyu sounds dejected as he lets out a heavy sigh.

You reach out and ruffle his hair, earning a sound of disgruntlement as you use your other hand to pull your phone from your pocket. You only stop making a mess of Chifuyu's hair as you find the contact you were looking for.

"Baji! What's up gurl?"

You stifle a laugh at Emma's over familiar way of greeting you. She had been like a sister to you since you'd met Mikey.

"Are you with Mikey or Draken?" You ask, smile in your tone.

"One sec." She can ascertain that she's pulled the phone away from her face as she yells out her brother's name.

In no time at all, you're met with another voice.

"I have a phone too."

Mikey sounds like he's pouting, which causes you to laugh.

"One you never answer." You huff out, pretending to be annoyed. "I need some help with something."

"Are you ok?"

Your smile softens at the tone that Mikey takes. There's no joking around or room for smiles as he focuses.

"Yep!" You say enthusiastically. "Just stuck in the middle of town cause Chifuyu's bike is useless." You sigh dramatically, disregarding the weak "hey..." from Chifuyu's end.

"What do you mean useless?" Mikey asks as you switch the hand holding the phone so you can shove the cold one in your pocket. "Draken and I just gave it a tune up not too long ago."

Your gaze fell on a dejected looking Chifuyu and your heart thrummed. He looked like a dejected puppy. You had to resist all temptation to reach out and ruffle his hair again. You kinda just wanted to hug him too, but that was probably going a little beyond what a normal friend constituted of. You hoped that you could play your blush off as it merely being cold out. Plus, it wasn't like Chifuyu was interested in you beyond the point of you being Kei's twin sister.

"It won't start, hold on." You hand your phone towards Chifuyu, who looks a little embarrassed as he plucks the phone from your fingers.

"Hey Mikey." He huffs out, clearly still fairly upset with his bike's malfunction.
