Chapter 12:

You're staring at the blood pooling below him. He winces somewhat, taking a deep breath before turning a smile towards you.

"I'm ok." He huffs out, his face battered, but those turquoise eyes still able to find you in the room.

You struggle against your restraints, grunting as they hold you back. Chifuyu takes yet another hit to the face, pulling an ugly, wet sound from his throat.

"Please stop!" You blurt out, straining against the boys holding you back.

Someone strikes you, but it's nothing next to the hole in your chest that you feel growing every time another drop of his blood hits the cement under him.

"Hey! Don't fucking touch her!" Chifuyu practically growls, earning a round of chuckles.

"Shut the fuck up, Romeo." Another boy strikes Chifuyu, an audible crack meeting your ears.

A whimper leaves your lips as Chifuyu's head slumps down. Tears make your vision hazy as Chifuyu hacks up more blood.

"Not so tough now, are ya, Romeo?"

You wish you could strangle the person leering over Toman's first division vice-captain. Nonetheless, Chifuyu straightens up, offering the man a smirk, blood mixed into his expression. It makes your stomach turn as the boy before him contorts his own face into something scary.

"What the fuck are you smiling about?!" The boy sneers, shoving his hands into his pocket.

You nearly vomit as silver catches the light above you.

"Keep talking, Romeo." The boy growls, putting his blade at Chifuyu's neck.

"If you insist." Chifuyu states before spitting some of his blood in the boy's face.

Your world crumbles just from a flick of the wrist.

"CHIFUYU!"

You sit bolt up, vision hazy as you take in your surroundings. Your heart is in your throat as you thrash about, trying to shake off a phantom. As your vision clears, you find two very shocked people sitting beside your bed. Emma throws whatever it is that she had been fighting over with her brother at him in favor of bounding towards you. Turning away from the Sano siblings, your eyes wander the room before you.

"Oh my god!" Emma gasps, smile on her face. "I'll go tell the nurse!" She leaves the room, leaving you to ponder what she meant about nurse.

Time catches up with you, pain flashing through every nerve of your body. You groan, folding into yourself as footsteps shift towards you.

"Lay back down, dummy."

You peek towards Mikey, still trying to catch up with what the hell was going on. Had that been a bad dream? Lifting your hands up, you're shocked to find bandages littering your skin along with an IV feeding into you. You blink as the warehouse fiasco rushes you in a flash. You nearly vomit, clenching you fingers in your lap. The tears hit your fists before you realize you're crying.

"Chifuyu?" You ask quietly, heart sinking when Mikey doesn't answer you right away. "Mikey!" You snap, earning his attention, though just briefly.

"He's worse off than you are."
