"Hoooolllllyyyyyy shhhhhiiiiitttt!" I jumped out of my bed when my alarm rang again. It's already 8:45 and my class was supposed to start at 8:30. This is my first day and I would totally make a bad impression to everyone.
I quickly prepared and made sure that the things that I'll bring are all present. I really don't care about being late, I'm already 23 and still in the junior year. I just feel different since I went here.
I was rushing myself while walking. I am not really sure about the transportation here but hopefully I'll find a cab.
"Wanna ride?" I almost jumped off the road when a car parked infront of me.
It was a stranger.
"I'm kinda late." he said and then he showed his ID inside of the pocket of his polo. "I'm not a kidnapper."
I giggled when he said that. "As much as I want to decline, I am really in need of a ride."
He smiled, "Hop in."
Without hesitations, I hopped in his car.
"I'm Greg. Gregory." he offered a handshake which I gladly accepted.
"Aliyah.." I smiled.
"Aliyah?" his brows furrowed.
"What's wrong?"
"Uncommon name." he started the engine.
"It's because I'm not from here, silly." I chuckled; he did too.
"Well...welcome to Jericho, Aliyah." he smirked and then he drove fast that I never expected. "Don't worry, your in safe hands!"
We reached the University and I felt overwhelmed. It's my first time attending a school this pretty and cool. It was built nicely and neatly. This is what exactly what I dreamed of. All I can do is smile.
"Let me see your schedule." I handed it to him, "We have the same class for the second subject." he winked at me.
"Art Appreciation?" I felt the excitement roaming my body. Art is just my life.
"Whatever it is. Let's go? It's 9:15 already." Greg said and then we ran together in the hallway.
It's my first day and I wasn't able to attend my first subect and now, I'm also late for my second subject?! Which I also assume that it will be my favorite.
Greg opened the classroom door and he signaled me to go in first.
"What?! No! You go first!" I whispered nervously.
"Mr. Palmer, you're early." I heard a familiar voice from inside the classroom.
My eyes widened as I hear a familiar pattern of footsteps toward us.
Until I saw her....
"What is your reason now, Mr. Palmer?" she asked him.
"I'm sorry." he apologized, looking down.
She slowly turned her face, "You're also 15 minutes late, Miss Beischel. Considering that it's your first day, haven't you think of first impressions?" she squinted her eyes.
I felt my knees trembling. AGAIN.
"Miss Weems, I-I'm really sorry. I didn't—"
"Inside now!" she yelled. Greg immediately went inside. He stopped when he realized that I was still in the same position where he left me.
