The beam of the light from outside helped me see her face clearly. I circled my eyes in incertitude when I start to realize that I'm feeling of a bit of deja vu. I already saw her in my dream, I thought. Although the person's face is blurry but I am sure that it's exactly her. I am not mistaken, it is her! As I saunter more near her, the heavier my heart beat gets. I'm feeling something that I cannot explain. Her aura is really intimidating and it makes me uneasy.
"Please, do sit." she instructed which we did briefly. Her face is blank, she is not frowning yet she is not smiling either. I admit I'm quite intimidated with her aura. But who cares? She is just a landlord.
I roamed my eyes in her office. I assume she's really into art and sculptures. I like that part because I am also into art. I am really giving when it comes to the right side of my brain. I'm starting to love her office because of its structure and design. There are a lot of raw drawings. I wonder who drew all of those? It's indeed a piece of art.
"Good morning, Ms. Weems." My uncle greeted.
"Lovely to see you, Mr. Beischel" she faced me with a smirk, "And Ms. Beischel." she widened her grin while she removes her glasses.
"Aya, or Aliyah. You can call me whatever, it doesn't matter. Just make sure the spelling is right." I said. Her grin was immediately gone and then she avoided her eyes at mine. My uncle looked at me as if I murdered someone.
"I assume you already discussed her the...rules." she smirked.
Oh, fuck the rules.
"Yes, I did. In fact, I discussed it when we were on our way here."
She once again faced me, "Ms. Beischel, I would like to let you know that every rule that you might break has..." she grinned again, "consequences."
"Oh," I reacted, "That part wasn't discussed."
The landlord quickly glanced at my Uncle, "Mr. Beischel?"
"I forgot that part, I fear." he scratched his head, "I'm sorry." he chuckles after.
Ms. Weems smiled, "Anyway, here are her keys. Welcome once again to my home, Ms. Beischel."
I forced a smile, "Thank you, Ms. Weems"
She handed me the keys which I gladly accepted. My Uncle and I exitted her office peacefully. We were both silence for awhile. I am completely overwhelmed as of the moment. Maybe because of the new environment that I am embracing?
"Your room is at 2-F. This is ar the last row of the second floor." Uncle Chow suddenly spoke.
"She did not even escort us? That is so unacommodating of her." I asked rudely, again.
He sighed, "Do not always complain, dear. She is very nice and...accomodating." He said seriously.
I rolled my eyes, "Well, she has a good taste in art so I'll give that to her."
