I am swaying my body while walking on the way to school. I am buttoning my uniform suit since I wasn't able to do it earlier. I was afraid that I might be late especially that today is field day, the most awaited day in the school calendar because it requires a lot of school activities. I can say that Larissa is really doing a great job in her term as a headmistress. She is really bringing the best out of her students. No wonder her ratings are high when I saw the bulletin board. There is no denying that I am really proud of her for what she is building. One thing that I love about her is the fact that she is fearless. She is not afraid of building a foundation because I think she knows that she can really expand it which is already happening. I wish I could be bold and courageous as her. She is one of a kind and that's just one of the smallest reason why I love her.
I walked pass by a newly built diner near our school. I can say it's new built but there are still people who are helping to furnish it. I'll make sure to go here and taste the food since I like exploring in Raven now. After a few, I reached the school premise and I got excited just seeing the booths, games and the designs that the students created. I was just right in time because everyone is already in the field doing their businesses.
"Miss Beischel!" I saw Miss Thornhill walking towards me, "You're quite late. Principal Weems just finished her opening remarks."
"Aww, I missed it." I murmured to myself.
"Do you want to join the math game later?" She asked me actively.
"Hi and I'm sorry for interrupting, Miss Thornhill but...Aliyah is already our Team Captain in the race art competition." I almost jumped off my position when Florence snapped out of somewhere all of a sudden.
"I am?" I asked unbelievably which made her squeeze my hand, "Oh, yes, I am! I'm sorry, Miss Thornhill." I said with a guilty tone.
I hope this is just staged because this can't be true. Florence clutched her hands on my arm so I got a little anxious because of lying. One thing I really hate doing is lying. I can't take it to myself, I just can't.
"That's fine, dear. Goodluck on your competition, ladies. I know you'll do well!" she said before leaving the both of us.
I quickly sighed, "What was that? Why do we have to lie?" I asked hysterically.
"I'm going to punch whoever told you the we lied." she said in a dead tone.
"Myself?"
"Except you." she replied, "We're not lying because it's true. I'm making you the Team Caption of the race art competition and you don't have the rights to decline." she dragged me inside the field.
"You are fucking kidding me right now"
"Nope"
My hands starts to tremble since I am not skilled and used to leading a team. I am not confident and I think I know my capabilities can reach the power of Florence when it comes to leadership. Plus, this is a main competition, not like the usual classroom ones. It will be my first time competing in a large scale of people.
"You said you're inlove with her yet you never attended her welcoming remarks."
"Hey! I did once!" I defended myself.
"Yes, because you were required to be there." she backfired, "Principal Weems knows that I will lead the team and she also doesn't know that I recruited you in our team." she continues to tell me while we walk on our way to our destination.
"What does that mean?" I panicked.
"Nothing? Just surprise her with your skills. She'll surely be proud." she simply said.
