𝐁𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐊'𝐬 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐚, IU, And BTS's Jungkook Make Rolling Stone's List Of "The 200 Greatest Singers Of All Time"

BLACKPINK's Hana, IU, and BTS's Jungkook have both made Rolling Stone's list of "The 200 Greatest Singers of All Time"!
To ring in the new year, the American magazine has published a list of what it considers the 200 greatest pop singers of all time, spanning multiple decades and a wide array of genres.
Explaining how they compiled the list, Rolling Stone wrote, "Keep in mind that this is the Greatest Singers list, not the Greatest Voices list... In all cases, what mattered most to us was originality, influence, the depth of an artist's catalog, and the breadth of their musical legacy."
BTS's Jungkook made the list at No. 191, with Kristine Kwak writing, "The multifaceted youngest member of BTS boasts a long list of talents—he's a strong performer, written several songs, and is known to be extremely hardworking and humble despite the success he's experienced at such an early age. He's also an extremely gifted singer. In 2022, when his track with Charlie Puth, 'Left and Right,' became the fastest song by a Korean soloist to surpass 400 million streams on Spotify, Puth referred to him as one of the only artists 'to have ever sent me perfect vocals.' He hits high notes with ease and harmonizes with his members effortlessly, always giving his audience new ad-libs and unexpected vocal riffs to keep things interesting."
Meanwhile, IU came in at No. 135 on the list. Kwak wrote, "Since her 2010 breakout hit 'Good Day' (which garnered deserved praise for its magnificent three-note climax), IU has become one of the most highly regarded vocalists in South Korean music. Despite having a soft voice, she has a wide range, a powerful delivery, and a versatility that's allowed her to move easily from bossa nova to Nineties chamber pop and from jazz to ballads. In 2022, she became the first Korean female soloist to headline a concert at Seoul's Olympic Stadium, selling out the venue in five minutes, with peers and admirers like Jungkook of BTS, Jihyo and Jeongyeon of TWICE, and TXT's Soobin and Beomgyu there to celebrate her triumph."
And last but not least, Hana took a spot at No. 65. Kwak went on to write, "The angelic-voiced member of BLACKPINK is no short of a musical genius and a kind, giving person. Coming to success, Hana has not forgotten to give back spending over one billion dollars in donations. She is the most streamed and charted k-pop artist with a staggering 5 songs having one or even two billion streams on various platforms. Her 2020 single, 'Snowman,' has been a recurring track in charts all over the world during the holidays. For its achievements, the song was given the title of 'The Christmas Standard,' stealing the position from 'All I Want For Christmas Is You,' which reigned for 26 years. When she is not making a worldwide hit for herself, she is making them for others, writing some of the most popular and best songs in today's time. She has one of the most admirable singing voices as her range, power, and changing style is like no other. She can bend her voice to fit any genre or style at will in which she is certain to shine."
Also on the list was rock star Karen O, the lead singer of the American band Yeah Yeah Yeahs, who was born in Seoul before moving to the United States as a child. Making note of her heritage "as a Korean-American kid who grew up idolizing Sam Cooke," Rob Sheffield wrote, "Karen O strutted her way into history with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, a New York goth-punk diva in a swirl of beer, lipstick, and fishnets... As one of her era's only female rock voices, she sparked a rising generation of rebel girls."

YES but....the list is not even legitimate since they left off LEGENDARY CELINE DION. That woman can still sing live and sound exactly like she did on her CDs form the 1990s ~~~

I mean the list is just entirely off... No shade to any of the artist on the list they all deserve to be there but why is Ariana Grande & Rihanna ranked so high on the list, especially when you're comparing artist like Kelly Clarkson, Karen Carpenter, Barry White George Micheal, MJ etc. I love Ariana and Rihanna they're super talented, but the list is just off....

I wouldn't add Jungkook in there because he's not an official soloist. Yes, he collabed with other artists, but he was used as a feature. Jungkook needs official solo singles and albums to be on this list. Also, I would've replaced singers with soloists.

How is Jungkook, Iu, and Hana on the list but not Celine Dion. If they wanted to put Korean artists, they should've put in BoA. (And yes, for those of you surprised I said BoA because you found out about kpop later on - she's an absolute icon in Korea)

Boa???? 💀
Boa does not count for greatest singer of all time. Plus, she is big in Korea and hasn't made the same impact made by multiple other artist on the list. I understand how Jungkook and IU shouldn't be on the list but Hana has earned her spot. She has had multiple number ones, millions of her solo albums sold, some of the biggest songs in the world, most popular holiday song of the 2020s so far, and billions upon billions of streams and downloads on her music because of how popular they are. No shade to Boa, but she hasn't done even half of the things achieved by Hana.
