Most Blinks would advocate that Jisoo and Hana are the moms of Blackpink. But behind the scenes, the real mother of the group is Yuna's mother. Of course, there are their managers who are there for them, but Yuna's mother was like family.
After Yuna started earning a lot of money from her idol career, she opted to retire her mother in her late 30s. Yuna really prides herself on this and is happy to see her mother being able to live her life freely after giving her daughters her youth. Yet instead of traveling the world, trying things she has always wanted to do, she became a step-in mom for Blackpink.
Most of Hana, Lisa, Sol, and Chaeyoung's families were not in Korea. When members felt homesick, Yuna's mom would make them their favorite comfort food. She would invite her family and neighbors to watch the girls in variety shows and award ceremonies. She looked after the girls during their recent comeback and was going to be attending most of the shows in the Blackpink Arena Tour.
So needless to say, Yuna's mother was very special to all of them. Today was her birthday as well so all of the girls prepared gifts for her. At the birthday dinner, she was surrounded by people she loved.
The waiter brought a birthday cake and everyone sang happy birthday. She blew out the candles and everyone clapped.
"Mom, you should open the gifts now. Start with mine!" Yuna handed her mother a purple envelope. It wasn't thick and looked like there was barely anything inside. Did Yuna really just give her mom a letter and no gift?
"Ah!" Yuna's mother screamed. "A trip to Jamaica?!" A smile spread across Yuna's face seeing her mom's reaction.
"You're going too far," Yuna's mother placed her hand on Yuna's arm.
"Your work hard for us. You deserve a break."
They hugged and Yuna grabbed another gift from the pile. She inspected the box she grabbed and asked who it was from.
