"Pepper Spray Scene"

While everyone is out of the company for a celebratory dinner, one of the workers stays behind to rummage through Siwoo's office to see if they could find an important envelope. But while trying to pick at a locked drawer, Siwoo comes into the office and the worker quickly hides under the desk. Siwoo grabs her coat from her chair and the worker listens to her leaving. When the worker comes out from under the desk, he is startled to see that Siwoo never left and had only pretended to. She confronts him and he tries to play the pity card but she doesn't buy it which makes him turn to violence. Confident that Siwoo won't be able to take down a bigger guy like him, he gets into position to fight only for him to get pepper sprayed in the eyes by Siwoo. He breaks down and starts screaming in pain. He cusses at her only to be shut up by her taser as she makes a smart remark. This comedic scene made many laugh and applaud Siwoo.

"Siwoo's Dominance Over Minwook Scene"

Minwook took Siwoo to a separate room away from the party where they could be alone. He had been going after her for a while but Siwoo acted oblivious because she knew his intentions. She needed to get close to him but knew that if she just slept with him, it wouldn't go the way she wanted. When they were alone, she knew she couldn't avoid it anymore so she had to control it. Siwoo sat him down on the couch and towered over him. As much as he wanted to touch her, she wouldn't let him and he almost couldn't resist it as she was wearing a fitting dress that showed off her curves. Originally, Minwook wanted to sleep with Siwoo and just take another one of his "girlfriends" to his parent's house to make them mad and she knew this. But she made it clear that if he wasn't serious about having a relationship, he could go jerk off at home and not try to mess or play around with her. She overpowered Minwook and also told him that if he wanted it bad enough, she would lead. Despite his pride and ego eating him from the inside, he couldn't say no. She gave him one kiss which he hungrily kissed back but Siwoo pulled away. She told him to not overdo it and it was a mere goodnight kiss. She left him in the room and went home while he stayed there thinking to himself 'what is he going to do with a girl like her?'

RECEPTION

It was a commercial success nationally, having some of the highest viewership ratings of the year. The show mostly targeted domestic audiences so it only became available to international audiences --mostly outside of South and East Asia-- after the show aired its last episode. It became available on streaming services and was quite well received, becoming one of the most-watched series on many platforms such as Viki, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, and more. 'Madam' accumulated 279.11 million hours viewed in less than a month from its release, knocking off 'You' from the number one place on Netflix's Global Top 10. In the first week of release, the drama had a 68.32% surge in media mentions.

Thanks to the show's viral clips online, the actor's individual popularity, and the marketing to promote the movie, many people were drawn in to watch the trending drama. Sol's performance was applauded by critics and viewers as she perfectly played a character she had never done before and was not familiar with. This role helped showcase her versatility and she was no longer tied down to stereotyped roles.

Sol was also praised for her role behind the scenes as not only did she style her own character but she co-produced and was very important for the show's more artistic direction and small details. Fans loved the many outfits put together by Sol and the stylists. Some of the most frequently used pieces on Sol's character Siwoo were fitted dresses that show off her envied golden body proportions.

The minds behind the scene explained that the wardrobe for Siwoo was specifically thought out to be as feminine and risky as possible for her to kind of rebel against her parents --who made her wear boy's clothes all her life-- and also embody her femininity and newfound confidence in her new life.
